It's a tradition at Everton to keep a quality, devoted and celebrated player past their shelf life where they are just not capable of performing at the required level anymore. Distin, Jags, Baines and now Coleman. Everton need to jettison the sentimentality and establish a successor long before an established player's skills start to wane

I am a fan, damn proud one at that. I’m just not a knobhead who wants players sacked. I’ve said for years he’s needed phasing out, but managers stick with him for experience

For the record I never called for Neville or Jags to be sacked either when their legs went
