2021/22 Seamus Coleman

That bit when he ran 50 yards backwards with the ball, to get tackled and he just sat there on all fours like a dog waiting for them to score was grim.
This infuriated me. He could've gotten up and sprinted back. Instead, he sat there just accepting it....that's our captain!

The same captain who didn't hassle the ref when they were time wasting etc. We're a team of cowards. Scared to give the ref an earful and stand and watch our players getting kicked.

This clown needs to stop talking garbage on the official site and start acting like a captain
2 things 1, he should have scored his chance that he had
2, when Leicester were time wasting the other day as a captain he should be in the referees face asking what is he doing about it, what did he do nothing.
The sooner this waster is out of the club the better.
Ps also nearly lost us that game the other night when he was holding onto the ball for too long, lost possession and Leicester nearly made it 2-0
Pathetic

I hope if we go down he has the decency to quit/retire. Captaining a relegation should be enough for him to fall on his sword.

I don think anyone would question Seamus’s decency, integrity and honour.

He may well be over the hill on the pitch but if we were to go down, I for one think Seamus would feel honour bound to join the fight to get us back up again.

He won’t retire or quit because we go down.

No surprise hes the last player who was under Moyes who started this cowardly mentality

Ffs he didn't concede though against Leicester or utd. Goal conceded came down the left. Hes working his old bullocks off . Hes the best rb we have and we're trying to stay up - who else you want to play rb now ? Boards fault hes still been called on - shouldve been fazed out years ago, we've had about 10 transfer windows to rest and replace him and we've effed up everyone of them especially Januarys which could see us relegated ... He should've scored too- now hes a striker ffs - Ritchie our Brazilian striker shouldve scored his many chances too then people wouldnt be expecting our aging rb too.Blaming Coleman for the ineptitude of the board pathetic.

It's not a question of integrity - he's a good man - but staying would be misguided loyalty. Unless he's prepared to take an enormous pay cut. Financially, we're in the mire re salary/revenue ratios and that would be significantly worse in the championship. Staying would cause us more harm than good.

I actually feel embarrassed for him watching him try to play football.
Not feel bad for him. Just embarrassed for him. A great everton rb in his pomp. One of our best in the prem era. Always gave his all. And was quality for us.

Embarrassed for him.

Probably stick your da in a horrible nursing home and criticise him feeling embarrassed for him one day I'd say. If that's how you are here.

Always take a gander in here to give myself a refresher on fan loyalty. I used to feel betrayed when a player would leave. Now I hope they k'off when we need them most.

It might well be misguided loyalty.

The manager, whether it be Frank or A.N. Other might tell Seamus to leave.

But I am convinced Seamus himself would feel obliged to try and help the club get back agsin.

True. However i do believe we are in this position because we are not snide, we don't do anything to win, the mentality taking part seems to be our mantra.
Nothing more speaks about how soft we are, when you compare Song tackle on Gomes to Pickford on Dijk. Our captain Coleman cuddles Song, the other won't speak or meet Pickford and is met with a wall of silence. We are to nice too soft. We are Coleman.

If he cares that much for Everton he would have retired from international football 3/4 years ago to make himself last longer in the premier league, yes the board have let us all down in the transfer market, but this clown is supposed to be our captain, I didn't see any leadership skills on wed night when Leicester were taking the mick with their time wasting, the guy is completely finished but still taking a wage off the club.
As I have said the sooner he is gone we can get a captain with a winning mentality in

If we went down, him staying would harm our chances of being promoted rather than help.

The man is finished. He was never technically good (still can’t cross a ball after playing the game for nearly 30 years for example) but made up for it by being industrious. Now his legs are gone, there’s absolutely nothing there.
