I think we all know playing wise was finished 2 years ago at top level. And its essential either patterson is up to the starting position next season or a starting replacement is brought in during the summer. Could do a job at Celtic for a year or 2.

…I did, Matey, sorry for the confusion but I know a series of National managers have mentioned the respect they have for him and the esteem in which he’s held. Not sure what managerial ambition he has but I can certainly see him in charge of his country at some stage.

… I think ’we all know playing wise he was finished 2 years ago at top level’ is a lazy and throwaway line.

If you are speaking for ‘all’ I certainly don’t think that way. I agree he’s not the player he was but he’s certainly our best RB and certainly nowhere near the worst in the PL. There have actually been spells of decent form in the past few seasons.

i‘m more than happy to see him here next season, hopefully supporting the emergence of Patterson.
