The Townsend corner, hits first man and then you see the distance between Damarai and Coleman is too short for somebody of Coleman's limited ability to deal with, even though it's simple enough to either just smash it or do literally anything other than what he did. It's really no wonder the Irish get a reputation for being thick.
Well aren't you a racist [Poor language removed]!

Did the same with Jagielka, allowed a good servant to soldier on as a shell of a player until they start to ruin their previous good service.

You get the odd player like Gary Neville who has standards and holds their hands up. If the player doesn’t do it though, the club has to have standards and make decisions for them. The club simply shouldn’t have let it get to this situation.
Imagine an Everton player having that level of self-respect.

Every single one of them wrings out every last penny.

There's no way a 33 year old Seamus Coleman should be playing every game at this point in his career. I don't care how bad Jonjoe Kenny is play him Monday night if only to give Seasmus Coleman a game off to rest.

That is something I have always maintained in the call for an LB, give Kenny a good go. But it is the mentality of Benitez sticking to old experienced players.

Bin! No longer fit for purpose, would rather see Holgate or Kenny given a last chance to prove their worth until January, neither offer much in attack but Coleman sadly had absolutely nothing left to offer.

That Goal ! Will be televised in 100 years from now. If any of our hierarchy should read this, then
they should be ashamed of themselves, this lad should have been 'back-roomed' many years ago.

The problem with that, means there is a breakdwon between the defence and goalkeeper. Every so often yes, not every game. It screams that they dont trust eachother.

Agreed, but they are all under constant pressure from the ineffectiveness of our sieve of a midfield.

At the start of the season when Douc was doing the work of two men, and Allan hadn't been run into the ground yet, and even Gray and Townsend could track back, they had a little more time.

Granted, they still screwed it up from time to time, Keane especially. Now though it's like they're shoveling the tide - the waves just keep coming. Not just from the RS, who to be fair are the best side in the world right now imo and cutting everyone to ribbons. From the likes of Brentford and Watford.

How we went with only two - that's where Rafael lost me.

Well he made the other 5 signings this Summer - why not a 6th replacement RB or cover?

First, we have a Director of Football. Squad balance should be on him as he's meant to direct football, over years.

Second, we had no pace whatsoever in wide attack and one striker and senior goalkeeper at the club, and £1.7m to do anything with to rectify it.

We need a left back too, and a playmaker, and another striker, and so on. It's not on Benitez that the squad he inherited was a train wreck and there was no money to do much about it.

We spent the only money on Gray and he's now probably worth £20m. It is what it is.

There are loans and free agents on the market - we've done it before. No matter where else in the squad needed fixing right-back has been an issue ever since he broke his leg.

….I’m a fan of Coleman but a player at this level should comfortably deal with that pass. Basics.

I’ve long talked about players in the back four having ‘powers of recovery’, once Coleman lost possession he never looked like catching a player running with the ball. It should be recruitment criteria.
