I see Johnny Evans has retired from international football for Northern Ireland to concentrate on his club side.

Maybe Seamus could take a leaf out of his book and retire from the Republic of Ireland national team, what with all the injuries he's picked up over the years.

From a purely selfish perspective, I wish he'd just retire from international footy. He's been injured on Ireland duty far too often in his career to our detriment..

He probably should've walked away after the last campaign, I'd imagine the new Ireland manager has asked him to stay on. If the club had an issue with it you'd expect it would've been a condition of a new contract.

None of the medical staff obviously thought it was an issue. I expect it to be pretty much academic as the season progresses. Dixon will be 1st choice, bar injury, by Christmas.
