What must Young be thinking if Seamus is on that sort of money and not playing? I hope we are more ruthless in future, and while having a bit of experience around can be beneficial, we can`t be giving lads playing contracts for that sort of money when there`s a good chance of them not featuring for so much of the season.
We shouldn't be offering Young or Coleman new deals. That being said, at least Young is actually playing football, but at 40 years old we need to be moving on.

It's mad that modern players, with their wages, get testimonials. I know they usually give the money to charity these days but it's an outmoded occasion.
No, I get that. What I meant was, it would be great if he dies decide to stay on. As he is out of contract in the summer, we can then offer him a new salary, which will obviously be lower

Yeah, I suppose. Very few players stay at clubs for ten years any more, in any case, so they're pretty few and far between. I remember when I was a kid there seemed to be a testimonial for someone every pre-season.
Why is it rightly so, has he got coaching qualities that anyone knows of?
I'd love it if we kept him on at the club, and he went through his coach badges. Rightly so, because he has been a great servant to our club.
