Seamus Coleman

Worrying this problem with Coleman,it hampered him last season, they've recalled the right back kid Jonjo Kenny from his loan deal, and we're looking at the brazilian fella on loan who is...........a right back:(

Can't see that happening mate. If Coleman's hamstring goes again because he's brought back too early, then Martinez would rightly get a lot of stick.

If they both played, and neither lasted 90 minutes then we'd be left with only one possible attacking substitution. He might risk one of Stones or Coleman, but unless they're 90% or more fully fit I can't see them both being risked
Martinez may have memories of the 4-0 when he brought a few players back from injury and we were crap and the game was gone in by half time. Be crazy to risk him when we have been doing ok anyway.

More worried about Baines coming straight back into the first team when fit tbh! Galloway has been excellent
He has been, one of my highlights of the season so far. Next thing will be seeing a genuine back up to coleman come through and develop in his shadow as browning is proably best suited to centre half.

Although im surpised noone has mentioned it yet, galloway = Lescott?! Clearly he can play both roles and give him a few years practice and those chances he is missing now might be more clinicial as he develops!

I'm more concerned about Stones playing than Coleman, tbh. I'd like to see us keep it solid at the back with Browning and Galloway joining Jagielka and Stones. That feels more like a platform to keep shape and build from. We have attacking potential in this side and we dont need to push it from way back. Derbies are won by hard work and a bit of inspiration on the day. Dont consistently leave any space to be exploited.

Suppose he'll play even if it is 50/50 it's the derby and he knows how important it is. He should take a chance on both Stones and Coleman.

We played with half a team of injury crocks at the Pit in his first season. We all know what happened. Hopefully a harsh lesson has been learnt from that experience: if they're not fit don't play them.

If Coleman and Stones don't make it we're at a huge disadvantage considering Baines is not fit as well. That's three of the top defenders in the league out. Liverpool don't have anything like those injury problems with only Henderson missing.

Injury problems aren't the reason we lose these games.

Yeah but it helps having your best players out. Liverpool are only missing Henderson. We're missing 3/4 of our best back 4 so have to play two kids out of position at full back. No one even knows the impact of not having Pienaar available, plus we've got Mirallas suspended.

So it could be Baines, Coleman, Stones, Mirallas, Cleverley, Pienaar, Besic out v

Henderson, Lovren, Flanagan.

Our list is practically half our first team. I know we're feeling confident and our squad depth is a lot better this year but that's a difficult list to get over whatever way you look at it.

Kudos to Martinez for still being able to put out a bench of Gibson, Lennon Oviedo and Kone, that's some good game changing quality to have considering our long list of unavailable players.

I think that mentality is ok for away games against sides like West Brom. However Coleman would be a big player for us in this game, particularly when facing Moreno at left wing back. Liverpools weakness with 3 at the back is down the sides and we will be quite blunted if we don't have Coleman.

Stones is a class act so will be missed. He builds attacks for us very confidently. I do wonder though, with Liverpool playing two up top, and Ings doing his Steven Naismith meathead impression if Stones will get the time he usually does at the back?

To be fair to them they would also point out that they are missing Firmino.

Besic, Mirallas and Pienaar are all bench players. Liverpool are starting players like Lucas and Sakho. Our starting eleven in the last game against West Brom is as strong as their team was against Villa.

Moreno should have his hands full running back trying to close down Deulofeu, hopefully.

John Stones has only missed one game, if he is physically fit to play then he will have lost nothing from his game , in fact the weeks rest will have helped him.

That would mean that the only player who might start not having played for a couple of week is Seamus. He has not missed many games and is now an experienced premiership footballer.
I like Browning but as yet he simply does not bring anything near to the team that Coleman does.

Mirallas shouldn't be classed as a bench player though the lad is quality, Coleman will be a miss in this if he doesn't play, hopefully browning plays out of his skin
