2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

You don’t seem to understand the causal link between actual results and points. Why are you getting graphs out in what is a sport based on binary outcomes. You win, lose or draw and get rewarded accordingly. What some graph says has nothing to do with anything.

Everton 0 0 Newcastle, a draw, ergo the sides couldn’t be split, point shared. Competitive. I can’t help it if you can’t accept that we got the same outcome as Newcastle today.
thanks for that, we still weren’t competitive

I mean, I personally would take 10 matches like the Bournemouth one over 10 matches like the Newcastle one, because you would win the other 9. An isolated greatest choke in PL history wont repeat itself, much less 9 more times. If we played like that every match we would win many.

Im happily surprised we managed a point today but dont see us getting better without Branthwaite.

Bottom half squads are not going to consistently play their best football every game. Improve the squad improve the consistency.

It was a draw so by its nature is competitive.

Some people need to understand that just because we’re at home and we’re called Everton doesn’t give us the right to just muller teams.

Look through the 11s, apart from maybe Pickford over Pope and Ndiaye over Murphy, you’re probably taking a Newcastle player in every position of a combined 11. They’ve got world class midfielders in Guimaraes and Tonali and our former best player upfront for them.

They’re a much better side than we are quality wise and if Dyche is the worse manger of all time that people make him out to be then they effectively had a better team, a better manager, and a better bench, so therefore a point is a decent result.
Exactly.

Newcastle are miles ahead of us in terms of recruitment.

The question should really be why Howe - who a lot of these haters would have here in a shot, btw - hasn't got a result...and in fact had to get his big grock at the back to foul DCL and avoid a defeat.

Because the stadium doesn’t come with a new manager and 11 new players. The mentality on the pitch is totally irrelevant to a new stadium.

You set a low bar standard, like we have now, and that follows us into the new stadium

You'd be happy playing better football and relegated into the Championship.

I don't think people are asking to muller teams mate. I think just something that resembles football in 2024 would do.

When we played good football against Bournemouth it was all about the result.

When we get a result it’s complaining about the football.

Ultimately until the owners change and we invest in the squad and get better players the results and football are going to continue to be poor as they have been for years and years at this club. People are acting like Dyche has invented problems at Everton that have been here best part of 30 years.

You’ve just literally said Frank uses long ball because he wants to utilises the pace of his players; so he has a plan

Yes. But the plan is based off the same principles. Long into dangerous areas, win 2nd balls, pin in the opposition, put it in the mixer and straight away.

Brentford played more long balls than we did today based on the stats (59 to our 55). The telling stat is more when they got into areas, they're generally pretty good at converting. They crossed the ball accurately to a player in the box 13 times. Ours was 2.

Franks clearly better at it that Dyche. But he's not reinventing the wheel is he
