2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Well, yes, it's one of them. But you still need players who can take their chances.

Maybe if Dom was good enough he'd score more? He's scored 17 in his last 77 prem games. It's appalling. Sick of excuses for him now(not that you're making any per se).

He's turned in to an 8 goal a season striker and that's part of the reason we've been struggling for a while. We've brought in other options - Beto, Chermiti and Broja, but the jury remains out on them. I'm hoping one of them takes the shirt sooner or later.

I'd be genuinely shocked if the midfield got more than 30 goals between them this season. Somebody pointed out the other day that we've only scored more than 50 goals once in the last 8 seasons ( at least i think that's what they said) I don't see us getting over 50 this season either, don't care who the manager is.

On Dom, I think the post-match press conference kinda summed up how useless Dyche is.

He spoke about increasing the numbers of crosses and long balls after Beto came on for Dom, seemingly thinking this is the best way to score with him playing, but also not realising he doesn't understand that's the best way to score when Dom is on the pitch.

Just done a run down of your posts in this thread alone. Almost 30% of them have nothing to do with debating Sean Dyche and are just mocking or goading other posters, of that 30% a significant number is either about me or Dave.

I’d suggest I’m not the one with the problem.

This is very obsessive behaviour.

Dyche would swap our financial situation for every single other club in the league bar none.

We’re in a position of selling one big asset every summer and spending less money than we bring in on replacements. We’re now down to about three saleable assets in Pickford Branthwaite DCL and the latter will go cut price or for nothing.

He would bite your hand off to be in Newcastle or Villa’s position with their PS&R ‘issue’ of wondering which asset they’ve bought recently to sell in order to buy even more good players.

People are just glossing over squad quality and money like it’s not the biggest factor in the history of football.

Some of the comments are basically akin to ‘well if you forget about player quality, issues off the pitch, transfer expenditure, injuries, ownership change, then there’s no excuses and Dyche should be doing better’. In that parallel universe maybe he should but we don’t live in that one.

If you keep selling the club’s better players every season, and pocket most of the cash, then you’re not likely to continue to see season on season improvement when your rivals are all spending. People can blame Sean Dyche for this but it’s just logical reality.
That has all come about due too poor recruitment and a lack of planning from day one, we only have ourselves to blame for it. Hiring the likes of Allardyce and Dyche doesn't help as modern day players won't be in any hurry too play for them.
Dyche is on qualifying for Europe money thats why people are on his back all the time, if he was seriously just hired to "keep us in the league" as you always say we certainly don't need to be paying him £5m + bonus a year, that's a top 7 pay packet, hence why people have a go all the time. If you don't like then tough tbh, but that's how it is and that is how football fans work tbh.

Thanks for volunteering to take on the role of the forum police, as well as the Dyche police.

So really it’s not his remit its your opinion of what his remit should be given the optics involved.

And that could well be the case, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s grim to watch. It’s a season in and season out grind, It supposed to be entertainment and I dunno about anybody else I’m not entertained.
Honestly, I get your point. But given the base line of players and investment what remit we can have other than finish above relegation.
Dyche is probably going, "Fair enough, it's not going to be pretty tough".
It isn't good, but hopefully, the end goal is getting through this season. I am guessing we have reset PSR then, and we are full throttle for an investment plan and a new manager.
Of course, that is blue sky thinking!

This is just daft. Yes he had occasional starts earlier on but at that point he was 18-19, wasn't ready to hold down a starting place and the jeopardy of the situation we were in meant we couldn't necessarily take a chance seeing how he would adapt being thrown in at the deep end.

By the time Dyche rocked up here Branthwaite was coming off the back of a very strong loan at PSV where he had developed, gained experience playing at a high level, his stock had risen considerably. If we didn't start giving him games we would have pushed for a move. And even then Dyche started the season with his golden boy Keggers playing ahead of Branthwaite and persisted with that for far too long despite disastrous results.

Dyche deserves no credit whatsoever for the emergenceand development of Branthwaite.

Sorry mate that's horse manure.

Essentially what we have here is a simple case of people picking what players Dyche game an opportunity to and dont want to credit him for then picking the players they wish he hadn't given an opportunity to and discrediting him because of it, i mean i know there is an agenda but surely it hasnt bent minds this much.
