2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Another of those top quality players that Allardyce had at his disposal. No wonder his record is better than Dyche's

Two really poor Managers and the current one has the worst record out of the two.

Are we really having a serious discussion about whether Sean Dyche or Sam Allardyce was the better manager?

Maybe liquidation would have been the best option after all

Not really. I could easily see a strong case being made for Allardyce being the better manager;

That's besides the point though. I'm saying it's difficult, and probably unfair to draw direct comparisons between their performance at Everton, as I personally believe Sam was dealt a stronger hand. Feel free to disagree on that point btw.

So, just so I know, because you'e yet to actually answer it, do you think Sam had a better team?

Nobody has used the words "top quality" so stop making facile and immature posts.

Well, he was our manager. He said that. I think it's fair to say he has to take some of the responsibility.

If we're going down that route, it's gonna be hard to criticise any manager when it comes to transfers during the Moshiri era. Saying that though, I do have some sympathy for them all because of his meddling, but we might as well just close down any transfer debate regarding managers if that's how we're gonna look at things.

Anyway, back to my original point. Do you think Sam had a better team? I've yet to see anybody challenge this assertion. All I've had is a list of 4 crap players he had, one of whom he signed and publicly praised.

Well surely you just say then than Dyche bought Beto for £25m if managers take responsibility?

To the original point: they're both wank managers and the fact Dyche is in some sort of head-to-head with Allardyce should be enough for him to want to get better and evolve.

He has to take some of the responsibility for Beto, yes. Though I don't recall him ever saying there wasn't a better striker available - though funnily enough , there probably wasn't, seeing as we were going cap in hand. Stark contrast to Sam saying he couldn't have spent £27 million on a better striker, and adding about 250k to our wage bill in one transfer window.

I must have missed this fact that Dyche is in some sort of head to head with Allardyce., other than the fact a handful of people are having a brief conversation about it on the internet.

Getting back to the present, I see the internet relating to Arsenal is full of fans demanding Arteta's sacking. Finished, a failure, lost it, the players don't want him, poor substitutions etc. Familiar sentiments to blues fans. I would have Arteta at Everton but it will never happen.

Well you clearly didn't miss it then, did you? You've literally just pointed to it.

Well I did, and have missed it.

He's not in any sort of head to head with him.

No more than he is with any other manager he can be compared to, because he has been compared to loads, on here, and probably in more depth. no?

So because they had different squads, which is fair, it means we can't possibly compare managers ever?

No, that's not what I'm saying mate. It's not for me to tell people what they can and can't discuss.

I've just been saying drawing direct comparisons is unfair. Saying Allardyce got better results than Dyche at Everton is pointless. It proves nothing. There's lots we could reasonably compare the two on, their respective spells at Burnley and Bolton for example, or their penchant for smearing gravy on brasses.

Funnily enough, this all started when somebody started saying "at least Sam knew how to attack" and then somebody posted a graphic (unverified by myself, but the numbers pass the memory test) showing we were bottom in the league for every attacking metric. But seems people can't even point out facts anymore without being labelled "dychette's."

I think they both had some decent players and also some terrible players. Allardyce was abysmal and wouldn't have even got a tune out of messi. Both of them are really poor gutter level managers. Don't get me wrong, i am grateful to Dyche for saving us last season in dire circumstances but that is when his tenure should have came to an end. He could then have left with his head held high instead of all of this bollox that is going on.
