2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Ok i'll bite - No player of real value would want to play under this arrogant, bald fraud of a manager.

Anyone who wants to give him any amount of money to rebuild is a major wool who watches Everton via refreshing their twitter timeline. He'll just give his player mates new contracts and buy [Poor language removed], he also doesn't work well with a DOF
Thanks for your view fellow toffee.

You keep confusing league position with squad quality either deliberately or not.

Did we have the 4th highest quality squad in 05 because we finished 4th? Did Martinez have the 11th best squad in 14/15 but the 5th best one the season before in 13/14?

Of course not. There’s a quality ranking of where the squad is on paper and then managers are assessed as to whether they over or under perform against that. Guardiola can’t finish 7th this season and claim his squad is therefore the 7th best. It’s a ridiculous way of assessing squad quality although conveniently fits with your agenda.

When Dyche came in we had one of the worst squads in the league. Your buddy MikeH said it would be ‘beyond a miracle’ if we stayed up. Dyche took them to a ppg that would have seen 44 points across a 38 game season. I classed that as an over performance for a squad I considered 19th best that season.

Last season we finished effectively 12th with a squad I considered to be maybe the 15th or 16th best.

This season I’ve said we perhaps have the 13th best, we’re under performing that at the moment but the season isn’t over.

So out of 3 entries in my book he’s over performed the natural squad quality twice and is currently underperforming but the season hasn’t finished.

Contrast that with Martinez taking a squad that was probably 6th or 7th best to 11th twice.

Using your logic Moyes should have been tasked with finishing third in 05/06 because he had the 4th best team so it’s not unreasonable for him to progress the players, that’s his job, blah blah blah.

Saying we finished a point off 10th last season so it’s reasonable to say we can be 9th this season is an utterly ridiculous argument as I expect you well know. If we had the 9th best squad on paper then maybe that would be true but you’re effectively getting very very angry at Dyche for not taking the 13th best group of players in the league at least 4 positions higher than where they should be.
What’s the point in a league system if not to find out how good you are in comparison to the others? That’s a direct correlation to how good you are as a team and why it is done across a full season.

They don’t give a crap that saint Domingo thinks they are only 13th best ‘on paper’ because other teams have bought other players that you have never seen play before etc.

Anyway, how many points do you realistically think we get from the next 8 games?

So why were you moaning after 2 games this season?

You’re trying to convince me that your logical fallacy makes sense, it doesn’t. If it did then no manager would ever over or underachieve, wherever they finished is the quality of their squad. That’s nonsense and you know it is.

If Pep finishes 20th, he doesn’t have the 20th worst squad, he’s just massively failed.

Before a ball is kicked most people would have said this group of players was 12-16th best, somewhere in that region. Dyche may over or under perform this.

The other side of your ridiculous argument is if he comes 20th I can just say it’s conclusive proof he had the worst squad in the league, what was he supposed to do?

It’s a one way illogical trap argument useful for your own agenda only.

"Burnley are the lowest scorers in the top 10 having managed only 16 goals from 17 games, which makes their points tally all the better, according to Dyche.
He said: "I love the 1-0s. Fans don't like them, but trust me, every manager does. Brian Clough used to love a 1-0, and there was a genius, and he used to tell the players.
"Clean sheet, score a goal -- 1-0 or 100-0, the idea is to win. So if you can win, that's the marker. If you can score more, brilliant"

Thats a piece from 2018 on espn. Just in case you've ever wondered how he managed to finish at burnley with less than a goal a game average over 10 years and why we're sitting bottom with Southampton as the lowest scorers in the division.
He thinks going for 1-0 wins is tried and tested from the 1970s brian clough era.
Someone whisper it to him but the games moved on.
Sound.

How about we see some of those 1-0 wins every once in a while then, Sean?

I was saying we should have been looking to let him go after his first 6 months, not just 2 games this season. And based on how low expectations have now become within the fan base and the total indifference that is being generated towards the club, i maintain it would have been a good idea.

How many points do you realistically think we get from the next 8 games?

He's not bald.

Hopefully the new owners realise we need a hard faced pragmatist who won’t be compromised by our entitled online attack dogs.

That man is Sean Trevor Dyche. What’s our name?
