2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Top Sports Science-based manager.
Over performing in the circumstances if truth be told. That doesn’t mean we’ll win every week, but we will sure as hell grind out enough points not to be dragged down.

He’s had little or no chance to evolve the squad into anything befitting the club, but then he’s only been able to replace players on the cheap even when he has had to sell players he’d rather keep.

People complain he was only brought in as firefighter, but we are still well ablaze and there will be no water in our financial desert until Moshiri finally sods off.

"And?" You think it's reasonable to believe he's a candidate for manager of the season at the end of one season, and then want him sacked after 1 game the following?
I don't think he was a reasonable candidate for manager of the season and I don't see him under any pressure (hopefully) of the sack. I did just write in the 24/25 personna thread that I was going to be more unhinged, so perhaps I should 180 on this.

There’s every chance we don’t win today. I’d still stick with him. I like his honesty. He’s right in that we have a fan base that can flit from one extreme to another and I think that’s very unhealthy at the moment, in our situation, position and current circumstances.

If we as fans take the credit for geeing up the team and dragging them over the line, then we have to pack the “booing”[1] in and mindlessly cheer.

“Everyone likes an honest man until he tells them the truth”.

He’s half right isn’t he? We’re one mad fanbase but coming out with that publicly is only going to end one way for him.

Clearly did a good job last season at blocking out the noise, getting points on the board, getting the players working. He was absolutely right when he said he “sets his teams up with what he has available”, exactly how it should be.

Unfortunately for him though, he’s been given better footballers in the attacking positions (Lindstrom, N’Diaye) & has to find a better way of playing on the front foot and infront of goal. If he persists with the same 4 as last week (which he’s doing again apparently), the pressure will mount quickly

Not the full truth though is it? Nothing there about him & how he sets his teams up.

Has this obsession with “experience” yet plays the same players who’ve consistently let this football club down.
If you read this thread people have given proof that Michael Keane was his least called upon senior defender last season, Ashley Young was the only right back available, and ye if he's playing Doucoure 10 games from now and we aren't winning then you can start accusing him of having favourites. It was the first game of the season.
