2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Last week for me was very indicative. We competed for 20 minutes and only 20 minutes

Went completely to pot.

It's inexcusable.
We huffed and puffed
And had them rattled
Their manager intervened
We huffed and puffed
And got beat 3-0
Today we didn’t even bother with the huffing and puffing .

He can be the fall guy, while also being crap and not without blame.

I credit Dyche for what he's done.

But Dyche is Dyche.

Nobody wants to be managed by Dyche. He says it himself - if the club wasn't a basketcase, he wouldn't be our manager.

Ideally we aren't relegation fodder and we lash him.

But, and as I'm conscious I'm boring people now. My view is we're still in a scrap no matter the manager because Harrison, who got relegated. McNeil, who got relegated. Doucoure, who got relegated, are all not good enough.

No goals/no pace dictates a relegation scrap.

….there was a clamour for Dixon to play today, which happened. Both Ndiaye and Lindstrom look some way short of starting on what I’ve seen, although it makes no sense (to me) that neither are played centrally when introduced. That alone is very odd.

I suppose the contention is O’Brien or Keane. He’s clearly not convinced with O’Brien at this point although I’d be starting him myself it’s not a decision I’d die in a ditch over. We’d all probably pick a different team given the chance.

We’ve not won a game in August for 3 seasons which seems crazy.
Dyche hasn't won a game in August since 2019. I know you're a fan, and I concede that he has a limited squad and other problems to contend with, but I just can't get on board with the idea that he is not part of the problem. That he's somehow powerless. He continued to play in the exact same manner after it was clear that the plan wasn't working in both games this season where we have been thrashed. He made some subs but he just shuttled players into the same roles in the same system that was failing. He is really, really inflexible. That to me is a problem.

superb post

If I'm Dyche I'd have resigned in the summer.

He said it himself, if there's no takeover he'll be left juggling sand.

He hasn't left because he'll never get a bigger and better paid job.

But he's the fall guy now for years of crooks acting as custodians.

….spot on. It’s just whether he can turn things around. Despite all the mayhem, I never for once thought he’d ’lost the dressing room’ last season and that could be the key again.

He's not doing himself any favours though. Minus 7 goal difference after 2 games and players bought getting splinters on their arse. Why spend 17m on a centre half and then continue with the disaster that is michael keane. We wont know if he can handle it until he plays. We DO KNOW keane cant. Whats to lose.
Spent money we dont really have on a player you deem not ready to start.
Either thelwell is calling that shot or both of them are.

Who was the outstanding quality or pace in the side Moyes had finish 4th in 2005?
