2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Also like how he said “the right time has club to leave the club”

You got sacked, bozo

By all accounts he went to TFG saying he took us as far as he could. TFG had backed him. But Dyche saying that meant he was basically resigning. He didn't. So he was sacked.

He called a spade, a spade.

It went flat, it happens all the time in football. He had to go.

In our position, you couldn't have a glorified interim manager get us over the line. Doesn't work in football. Doesn't work in any industry managing young multi millionaires who are off elsewhere in a few months.

Pay the man what he's owed and move on.
I dont even think about him.

I don't think he hated us at all, but I don't think he really bought into the idea of the club being special or anything the way some do. I think that side of things probably annoyed him a bit from things he's said, to him we were just another bottom half club who would be lucky to stay in the league and he couldn't really get his head round why fans didn't see it the same way.

Never liked the man.
Didn't want him when he was appointed and glad that he's been binned . . . but as others have said, he did the job that was expected of him.
That statement shows a little bit of class, especially given the terse statement put out by the club. He had no need to make any statement.
It seems to me that he has known for some time that he would be going once the takeover was complete and if anything, he seems relieved to be gone.
Glad he's gone but wish him well for the future.
I liked him when he scared the crap out of Klopp during Burnley's COVID win at the pit.

Reactions: kev

Its never said about Rafael or Lampard. Dyche hasn't hinted in any way that he hates the fan base. That opinion is just a result of the hysteria that built online leading up to his sacking

Yeah and Alex Ferguson and Wenger never said they hated each other either. It’s not something you just casually say.

Dyche has referred to keyboard warriors, “real fans”, complained about fans leaving early, made up expectations about fans expecting Europe, said he could “smell something” referring to a nervous energy in the ground that he created with his own pathetic subs. So yes he has repeatedly had digs at the fans throughout his time here.

One of the biggest reasons we stayed up under his tenure is that there were always three teams immensely more gash than we were, deductions included. Miracle worker my ass. The squad was clearly good enough to stay up each season; what is basically the same squad is now a point above the relegation zone. If he was the messiah some here believe, we wouldn't be scoreboard-watching all the time.

Saying he didn't quit seems absurd. He told the brand new owners that he had done all he could. In a results based job that is as close to a resignation as you can get without sending the resignation letter. He left the owners with no choice other than to replace him, which they did, very quickly. This in stark contrast to the previous regime's weeks long searches and infamous 48 hours.
I never really liked him - sort of ambivalently put up with him - and I think it was mutual between him and the fans. He will land on his feet and is millions richer for having held the position. He wasnt going to take us forward and could easily have got us relegated. Perhaps things are just more hopeful with a new coach even though the reality is that its the same players as we had last wek I feel much more confident in a result tonight.

I think we went for Potter and had sounded out other candidates and he just brought the issue to a head to be honest.

Said it at the time his position was untenable and it pretty much was.

I actually give him credit for it because many string it on for games like Lampard for their max compo - which believe i believe Dyche didn't get.

Sounds like everyone was in agreement to me to be honest.

You would think having Ian Woan as his best mate for quite some time would've prepared him for this, in a way, but he clearly wasn't

The fact that you think he's referring to you here is an admission of guilt

Well he called out keyboard warriors and the fact that you've taken offence to that seems like you've cast yourself as one of them

So what? I couldn’t care less if he thinks I specifically, and others in this thread, are a keyboard warrior, that’s his opinion. Just like I think he’s a terrible football manager and a stain on our history. Opinions innit.

Let me redirect the conversation back to it’s original course anyway. You made a suggestion that he’s never hinted at any sort of dislike for the fanbase, which is very clearly not true, as shown above.
