I didn't find it to be an insult, I just mean it was clearly used in an insulting way. When people say 'Oh here come the Dychettes' and 'where are the dychettes now' etc, or do little photoshops saying 'to the dychemobile' it's clearly meant as an insult. It's all good fun like, I'm not saying it's actually offensive, just that it was clearly intended to be a derogatory term and pretending otherwise is disingenuous. The point being that making out like only one side of the debate was insulting or condescending is just completely untrue, and so saying you're giving some back now doesn't really work seeing as it was being dished out both ways at the time.I mean, I haven’t suggested that at all
I try not to use insults. Have had insults aimed at me multiple times and pointed out others resorting to insults multiple times within the Dyche thread. So a bit of pointing out how wrong some of the above claims were isn’t exactly a major outrage in my book.
I apologise if you found dychettes to be an insult, but in my view it was literally a term for those who support him. Same way evertonian is a term for someone who supports Everton.
