2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I find that easy to believe
I could definitely imagine him being asked something about tactics and turning the question around with a metaphor of sorts, stroking his goatee like a sage, smiling enigmatically and walking into the haze from a smoke machine he carries around with him
David brent esque isnt he

I agree with you in general

But to be fair it's not impossible that another manager could come in, do a bit better, get the fans behind them and the team AND not have us in too much risk of relegation during the season

The problem is, given we have no leadership and proven track record of bad decisions, I don't really understand why people want to take that risk at this extremely low point in our history. It's not worth it just to play a bit better and enjoy games more.

So, as you say. Stick with the one who has the job and is likely to keep us up, and wait for the reality off the pitch to change (unless he actually does have us in real risk of relegation of course)
It’s not impossible at all - but nobody responsible is going to risk doing that for as long as the proven guy looks capable of keeping us up again.

It’s percentages. The upside of a change is we stay up and play nicer stuff. The downside is we go down. Until the equation changes, it’s Dycheball all the way.

I get why the media are jumping on the Everton in free fall narrative, it's something to talk about. But we know this is how it's been under Dyche, runs of bad form, runs of good form. Just because we've started terribly doesn't mean we won't get it together. We certainly aren't playing this badly because Godfrey and Onana have been sold.

Brighton under a new manager was always going to be challenging for us - Dyche system relies in nullifying the oppo set up, which is difficult with no historic info to draw on.

Spurs away, again not 3 points we are expecting.

I reckon the youngsters are only playing at the mo to put pressure on Thelwell to buy more players. He wants a full back and a centre mid you'd think.
I remember when we all went mad at Moshiri for the expected losses comment.

How far the fan base has fallen.

Young and Keane against Bournemouth's intense press would be a disaster
Besides the fact that starting them would deflate the crowd before kick off
What will absolutely deflate me is if there are no more signings by Friday night, this squad at present is not strong enough to keep us up and without signings and the injuries and suspensions that will occur then we will definitely be hard pressed to stay out of the bottom three. Very depressing I know but I’m being very realistic about our situation and hope some more signings will at least strengthen our fight to be strong enough to survive another season and go to the new ground in the premier league.

You only have to look at Saturday, game over in 20 minutes. It raises questions as to what kind of mentality there is at the club and if that “expected defeat” thinking is still there.

I get it, we are a poor side, they can still at least try and have a go otherwise what’s the point in turning up?

The fans see it and it’s part of the reason I suspect so many are fed up and pessimistic.

Oh his personality is one you'll either fully buy into - you're part of his little gang, or you'll absolutely detest
Yea, had bosses like this in the past.
They had polarizing personalities. The ones who were in with the boss generally exhibited the same traits/humor etc. They could get why the boss wasnt everyones cup of tea. Everyone else had no idea how anyone could stand him.
Kinda like the whole Patterson in Portugal thing, and the whole 'come on lad, we're just having a laugh' Dyche response.
I can also see how someone like DCL who doesnt strike me as the run of the mill lads lad might want out or be way off form.
I guess it's all speculation, or most of it.

I disagree with this

I don't think it's the fan base falling at all

When Moshiri was banging on about expected defeats we were still in what we thought was a "normal" situation whereby we could hope for or even demand improvement on the pitch and if they were in any way competent they could have delivered it via better manager or players. I think it's normal to get mad at that concept of expected defeats in that moment

Currently however the reality is without the owners changing there isn't even somebody like Moshiri making comments like that because nobody is visibly in charge. There's feck all money and nobody is planning anything beyond this season because we don't even know who will own us, and the current owner doesn't care

In that reality I expect nothing more than survival, and Dyche still is a better bet for that than gambling on our stupid club making a change.
