2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

So Dyche is on a 5m a year contract that has 9 or 10 months left.
If he's fired at any point before his contract runs out, he's entitled to a further 5m?
That can't be right. There's no way that's accurate. Incentivizing the manager to quit right at the end of the last season at Goodison?
Just put him out to pasture and pay down his contract.
This is all so annoying.
If this is true, then we know why he is starting Keane every match.

Heads he wins, tails he wins.

We are a joke...

Could it be grounds for breach of contract dismissal? I mean, he said he smelt it coming but did nothing to prevent it. 😆

Obviously I haven’t seen the contract. I doubt the source of the comment has either.

These penalties aren’t rare. I would assume it’s worded along the lines of “if Everton FC terminate this contract prior to its expiration, Manager shall receive the lesser of the remaining wages due under the contract or £5M . . . .”

So he would get his wages for this season paid out. If it had been last season, he would have gotten the £5M.

That’s my best reading of the tea leaves.

Well him and/or his advisors are smart then. Doesnt take a gypsy and some tea leaves to know the rubbish squad we have and the available funds to strengthen a weak squad may get your employment in jeopardy with the board and fans.
