2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

It is far too early to panic yet.
Last year our results at the start were just as poor, we had a weaker squad and still survived comfortably.

Sean Dyche is not in danger of losing his job, however he may be in danger of not getting a contract extension to lead the club in the future.
Could you imagine, the first 3 league games in the new stadium under Dyche? Another 3 losses with 10 goals shipped! Its hardly the new start we're waiting for. I don't see him getting an extension, but I do see him here until the end of this season once we start clawing back some points.

I really don't know mate for certain mate, I wouldn't have thought so though, in any company they - in theory, could not sack you but tell you not to report for work and still pay you.

Not sure on UK contract law mate, @jazzy may know, but i know over here the clause has to be inserted into the contract for it to be relevant, its not always - its usually in industries where information is sensitive and it would be the detriment of the company you are leaving - if you moved to a competitor and shared that sensitive information for their gain.

Bloody hell , over 10 years since I practiced but here goes.....

Yes in most high value contracts of employment there will be a clause relating to gardening leave.

However an employee can unilaterally be placed on gardening leave regardless of any clause. However this usually only happens when the employee has handed in notice to leave and the employer wishes to keep the employee away from work to , as you say , protect confidential information.

Recently Dan Ashworth was placed on gardening leave by Newcastle after he said that he wanted to leave to join Man U. Obviously I have no idea if he handed his notice in or there was a gardening leave clause but it would not surprise me if it was the latter.

Hope this helps.

I think that would be a disastrous situation

Like we should have done with Moyes?

Same thats what i think like pressure will be on if this run continues but can see him here till the end of the season. Worry for me is next season with the squad will be going with a big change and will have to bring in different types of players. That and would like see another manager who is able to make more changes from the bench change the formation ect.

If all you say is true mate - its a matter of time - why fret - football is invariably a dynamic business and if results aren't good enough he wont last.

I bet he will myself.

Ultimately all football manager leave, so he will go at some point - im just betting that its going to be in the longer term based on his ability as a football manager. Others are advocating otherwise. Its all cool.

A lot of chips have been placed in the last fortnight - its going to be fun to see how it plays out.

because its more about the damage he causes before he leaves. the summer was the perfect opportunity to replace him and then after the Bournemouth game

Unless you are talking about Garderning leave during someones notice period, that would likely be a breach of contract or at least "implied contract". Telling someone that they can't do the duties they have accepted the job doing isn't allowed.

To be honest, at this level, a severance package is likely in place at the signing of the initial contact. It gives the shareholders the power to tap me on the shoulder and move me on without me breaking any set instructions or doing anything stackable—i.e., just because they felt it could be better run. It gave me the knowledge that I had 18 months' salary in my back pocket if that was the case.

Common in certain levels in a career, you can't walk from one job to the next.

Company I work for, have a redundancy clause, in that, if offered and you accept, they place you on a 3 month Garden Leave, depending on which area of the business you work in.

Basically, as has been said to protect them from any malicious act.

They employ nearly 13k people and UK based, so it has been used many times in my near 25 years with them.
