2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Of course someone could. It’s the relative risk of how likely is it that we find this person and that they want to join (knowing a new owner could get rid of them imminently). As another poster pointed out the last few managers the club have selected have apparently been doomed from the beginning (how wonderful hindsight is, out the bloke who wrote Lampard’s name on Goodison didn’t have it) so what confidence is there that the club will select the right person who would take us forward in the immediate short term.

It’s a balance of risk but some people are not even considering the downside risk. Someone said we could take anyone from the championship and they’d do better.

Anyone? Kompany walked the championship, Bielsa did then took Leeds down, Russel Martin is down with us currently, Nathan Jones and Rob Edwards both great at Luton both relegated, Selles also, Paul Heckingbottom and Chris Wilder look decent in that division.

The gap is absolutely enormous to the prem now. The club, and hopefully the new owner, should absolutely be using the time now to assess the right candidate to take us forward next season, but unless the club can get the new owner to sign off on the candidate coming in, there’s a big downside to going for a temp manager now.
Id be fairly sure that any new owner (Textor) would have input on a new manager. Thelwell clearly has eyes for Corberan (I understand why as he has shown now at 2 clubs he can pull them from the bottom to the top with minimal resources, but can he step up like you say) Textor is being linked to Ferreira and Fonseca. All 3 have a similar approach and I do think Ferreira looks an impressive character. Out of the ones you list there I can't see us in for any of them, I actually like Russel Martin and what he tries to do and he is good at it but he suffers from Martinez syndrome in that he seemingly ignores the defensive side of the game at times. I'd also give a shout to Michael Carrick, defo got something about him.

Goals conceded last season 51

4 games in conceded 13.... we`ve conceded 25% of last seasons goals already, Dyche will make us hard to beat!!!! 🤣

5 defeats in a row going back to last season, 5 wins since 16th December 2023, 5 wins in 24 games, 22 points from a possible 72, back to back defeats whilst being 2-0 up...

His body of work is indefensible and is should never ever be acceptable by anyone at the club or by the fanbase, unfortunately there is a minority that are defending him to the hilt, I can`t fathom why because it makes no sense whatsoever.

The manner of the defeats this season are alarming already mate, dry bummed by a novice kid who managed for the first time in the PL

Lack of knowledge from the manager to see out the Bournemouth game, same yesterday

Total collapse when a team scores against us!

Impossible to get anything from a game when we concede first and can’t even grab a point with a 2 goal lead!

I don’t know how many alarm bells need to be rang here for fans to see right through this fella.

In context though, Brighton, Spurs and Villa are better teams - full deck i think we could have got a result VS Brighton.

Bournemouth was a cluster f admittedly. Absolute system shut down - shouldn't happen.

Feel personally when we get a settled starting back four - we will be grand, we always seem to start the season with a hangover from our poor recruitment, last season it was forwards injured & unavailable this year its full backs - while our best player at centre back is also out. Take the full backs and best player out of any team in the PL and they are going to find it harder to get results.

Red Flags/Alarm bells whatever you want to call them - the club should have been relegated by now - in all honesty the way its managed holistically as an institution it shouldn't be in the league - i think the team stayed up last day 22/23 is probably the worst ever to stay up in the league. No one has ever stayed up before with a points deduction let alone two until we did it last season.

The fact that we still have headbangers on here feeling entitled to be well up the table given the injuries we've had, is testament to the outcomes achieved with a manure show handed to the manager every season hes been here.

Its actually evidence of the good job done ironically.

In life an umbrella become useless and discarded after its shielded and protected you and kept safe a period of time, when the sun comes out.

I do somewhat agree with this but it does work both ways though mate. I'm no fan of Dyche and the way he goes about things (I think he is lost in the modern game and needs some time out to refocus his ideas) but I would rather let him see his contract out than bring back someone like Moyes which would be kicking the can down the road even further imo. We will stay up over the course of the season but you can't sit there and say that another individual may or may not have this group in a better league position, that's some davek crystal ball bs and its a total lie tbh.

Weve won 5 PL games since December but youd rather have this useless kopite dinosaur see his contract out then moyes back?

Absolute madness

It’s just a point to show that there’s plenty of ‘good’ managers in the championship that get completely found out in the prem.

If Textor is far enough along in the takeover that he can sign off any new manger then great. If he’s not though, as Friedkin wasn’t, then it just means in the deal doesn’t complete we’re looking at any other new owner coming in and wanting their own person too.

We need the owner, DOF, and manager aligned. Until we sort the top one out, then other two are just in a holding pattern.

Phenomenal post mate.

Dyche will turn things around, keep the faith.

Unfortunately Forever, no one else worth a carrot wants the job.

Had a peak at our next manager odds this morning, a few on here would be in for a snotty drop in their "ambition".

You can only assume people defend him because they are fully behind the very very bad job he is doing... perhaps these people want this club to fail or even worse.

You can use an umbrella to protect you from the sun too @Neiler

The first two games were a cluster ....

The second two, one was the manager messing things up with his subs

The final one is we were out fought

The manager does bare responsibility and his behaviour with his press comments not acknowledging that is very annoying. Saying about "the challenge" here yesterday is an insult to many Evertonians

Given he has responsibility for some of the errors that led to defeats.

Now. I think things will change when we take Keane out and put Branthwaite in, but still. Dyche needs to get in the real world with some of his comments.

He's trying to tell us, what the situation is when WE KNOW what the situation is and don't need telling
