2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I hope he comes in the presser waving his resignation paper.I had no time for moyes the last couple of years here but I would go down on my hands and knees to get him here got the rest of this already horrible season.

The football was dull times, he didn't win at trophy, but getting 9 of 11 seasons top half is pretty solid when you see Everton in the 90s except maybe under Royle (who won a trophy tho).

Can't blame him going to United back then as much as I didn't when Valverde went Barcelona.

So we have the worst record of all the teams in Europe's top 5 leagues this season. Dych's stats since walking through the doors have been abysmal. No other Everton manager has survived such a poor record. On top of that, our performances over all this season have been pathetic. Surely there can't be anyone on here who still thinks Dyche has a future with us?

The thing is, for all the criticism of Dyche, he has done exactly the job he was hired to do: keep us up.

Most of the ire now seems to focus on his inability to take the team forward and, while that may be fair and true, you’d be hard pushed to argue Dyche hasn’t exactly been supported in that effort.

He’s had to sell. The players he’s wanted, evidently, we haven’t been able to get. He’s having to make do, while delivering against expectations to move the team up the league (expectations which I would argue aren’t reasonable).

The team is what it is. It’s a poor squad that has been fighting down the bottom under several managers and, without £££, will continue to do so. Dyche needs to do better, much better. But the likelihood is we’d still be circling the drain with anyone else (at least, any manager we’d be able to attract in these circumstances).
That isn't a reason to keep someone in a job.
18 managers currently in the Premier League would keep us up

You have to ask the question?
Will we /did we stay up because of Dyche?

I dont think anyone deep down think that. Its more the hard headed ones with the 'he has credit in the bank' or 'he's done the job he was asked to do'

"No embarrassment," he says, about being the worst-performing team at the start of the season across all of Europe's major leagues.

It doesn't matter if that's true or not, it's so wrong-headed to say that.

We're all embarrassed, you should be, too, Sean. You're the one in control.

He's impossible to warm to. He makes absolutely no effort to build a rapport, to show contrition or concern.
