2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

There are a lot of similarities between ourselves and Schalke.
Both seem to be in irreversible and potentially terminal decline.
Both are noted for passionate and working class fans.
It’s not inconceivable that in few years both will be just memories.
I know it’s depressing but this is ridiculous talk, snap out of it!

I think we're too reactionary as fans.

Nobody wants Sean Dyche.

He's not fashionable, and I think that's partly why so many are particularly reactionary to him. Calling for managers like Potter, who have an even lower win rate than Dyche.

I'm seeing posts like this;

... and most, on shouty social media - agree.

But c'mon.

When he come in - 99% had us as down. We were down and out. Don't make me post the league table before he come in, and the immediate fixture list and us having no striker again...

2 seasons on the bounce we relied on the last home game of the season to stay up.

If people said after Bournemouth, we're going to sell more than we buy, and get massive point deduction - after the previous 2 years you'd again write us off as down.

He earned 48 points last season - that's massive progress from the 24 months before him.

We then again, sold more than we bought.

What's changed to make 95% approval of the manager (our survey at the end of last season). The consensus on social was the fella should have been in manager of the year shouts.

What has changed is - 4 league games. 3 Including Brighton, and Aston Villa and Spurs away.

It's mad, really.

There’s not a chance 95% of fans were happy with dyche at end of last season. 😂😂 what a crook of [Poor language removed]. If he’d had 50% of the fan base on his side he’d be doing well
And it’s again excuse, after excuse after excuse for dyche. The laughable argument that, well he’s better than Lampard

It’s quite interesting to look at what Lampard had 2 seasons ago, we had injuries, holgate and Tom Davies were getting games, Onana and Garner were 20yr olds with no prem experience,
Our only fit striker was Rondon, maupay turned up at game 5. DCL played 2 of the first 13 and 1 was the Palace 3-0.

Lampard wasn’t good enough and had to go, but all this dyche has had to sell to buy. He lost Onana, good player under a good manager,
Waste of space under this dinosaur and he didn’t even play him in the end and he lost Godfrey, again he’s a squad player.

Dyche can’t use the excuse of sell to buy,
He’s got a better squad and more options than last season and we’ve had our worst start in 70yrs. The excuses need to stop

Why doesn’t he get asked about time in possession. I think we are averaging 36% this season. Only Ipswich are that bad. It’s Dyche ball tactics that’s doing it.

Still can’t get over this.. sums up ‘Sir’ Farhad perfectly. No idea what’s going on, zero $hit’s given.

Oh and @blueboy72 - here is you, a few days before that same survey.

He’s a competent manager, who took over from an extremely poor manager. And done his job as Roy Keane would say. I said months ago I’d expect this squad, with mostly a fully fit squad to be 13th to 16th. Ao hes slightly over achieved, he’s not a miracle worker and should be manager of the year. He’s a steady hand for now. But new owners should be preparing for BMD and looking for better

There's you, saying he overachieved last season.

When youre upset and frustrated no one likes the reason for that to be so unapologetic and defensive with an ego.

He could say the sky is blue and it would cause outrage due to the situation

58% thought top 10 was a realistic expectation of last season!?!

I am sure the numbers on a thread poll on that topic had much different results ....

Question is realistic target rather than expectation. Perhaps a difference.

There's also a pride thing, a lot don't like saying our target is avoid relegation (even if 35% or whatever it was) did. Especially in the days after the last season ended.

I don't even really think of it as avoid relegation, the club is at such a low point I think of it as avoid extinction
