2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

If that's the case then he needs to stop Pickford and a few of the others from hoofing it up the pitch all the time, maybe it explains the Pope links (I don't believe them btw)

Drives me nuts, turning possession into 50/50 ball, absolutely stupid - he trusts them to much and they use it as a crutch when their confidence is low or they have anxiety about holding a lead.

Said it last week a lot of them need to go and see a sports psychologist.

Im on record as saying that you have to look at in the summer anyway given his and the squad contract situation - its what any well run organisation would do - its a bad organization that doesn't do it - im also not closed minded to him being the best candidate either, the change of ownership situation changes it again and adds another variable. If i was the TFG i wouldn't change my breakfast cereal for 6 months on the footballing side.

Whatever happens in the future - hes done a phenomenal job here, if he goes he will have my absolute respect, admiration and gratitude.
Avoiding relegation and playing stale, defensive rubbish football is now a phenomenal job.

Just F unbelievable...

I think there was a brief spell under Dyche where we played decent football last season. From October-December, also the Bournemouth game showed what Dyche "ideally" could do.

But there are many points against him to develop us to that side permanently to see that brand of football in majority and then also to gain points with it.

Think their are very evident signs he is trying to transition it, hes gone from a midfield three, to a two with an extra man in attack and improved the goal scoring out put and key deficiency we are all acutely aware of after the last three seasons.

Hes on to a looser though, he keeps it solid and gets results its "dog crap" football, he try's to open it up and we get tanked "then he needs results".

Its half the reason you cant take this thread seriously.

We should already have one tbh, especially given what happened last season the players must have had sessions with a sports psych at some point.

I imagine its offered - i guess you cant force people, but i wouldn't mind Dyche sitting down with a few and saying you really need to avail of this - even having a group session, i think their are issues there.

Maybe its happening and you don't hear - players have said in the past they availed of it - Pickford and Keane - im sure Dele has as well. Its not something i imagine the club would make public, but if its not happening it should be.

Id like to have this simplified view of it mate, i really would.

Everything would just be good and bad and the choices simple.

I envy it in a way.
I have two university degrees, and therefore I am all about analysis.

Yet, I still think Dyche is a rubbish manager, simple as.

It's sad that you envy that, because it means you will be fine having him here to the end of the season.

Good stuff mate! ;)

If you are all about analysis why are you talking in binary good or bad and a closed "simple as" - its not simple at all - why do you talk about poor football, without weighing up the risk profile of limited resources, selling players, threat and points deductions as variables. Its not very analytical.

Absolutely more then fine that he stays until the end of the season - at least. I do envy people who can just say, crap and change - im not entertained and im entitled to be entertained - which is subjective anyway. I spend hours weighing all this stuff up.

Would loose money on it mate, they were definitely on some run when Rooney scored "that goal".
I thought it was Utd. Wasn't that when all the pizza got thrown about after the game?

I do remember us stopping Liverpool's unbeaten run in the 80's, with a 1-0 win. Wayne Clarke scored I think

I asked how many points Everton got the year we got into the qualifying round of the European Cup not what Moyes did, Inknow enough about the 11 years he was here winning nothing but earning brewsters, so how many points did we get that year if you know?
Wasn’t 61? I read and it could wrong that Burnley got 7th with a low points tally? And we got 72 under Martinez to finish 5th
