So we have no money, we have an abysmal DoF, we have a manager who favours old farts and all of their track records point to 1 thing and 1 thing only - pensioners on relatively big wages.

It's not a "what if", it's "when".

Yeah the recent big money signings definitely supports your pensioner theory

Patterson, Mykolenko, Onana, Garner, McNeil

0 of them made with Sean Dyche as manager.

He can't not play McNeil or Onana as we had no one else. Spent ages introducing Garner.

He HAD TO play Patterson, instead played everyone and their nan.

You say he didn’t have to play McNeil but Lampard didn’t have McNeil starting in the team when he was fired.

Iwobi wa splaying centre mid at the time so Dyche had a choice of any of Gueye Iwobi Doucoure Davies Onana Garner to play. He put his faith in Onana right from the offset and as soon as Garner’s got himself fully matchfit he’s come in as well.

He didn’t have to play Patterson at all. At any point he could have put Coady or Keane at right back but he didn’t. He tried Godfrey and Holgate there whilst Patterson was getting back to full match fitness but he made his admiration for Patterson clear by the end of the season.

It’s honestly weird this bizarre obsession some people have with painting him out to be this dads army type of manager when the only facts available to us so far from his Everton career show him playing the younger players we have.

I mean we had young players available at the time, even the commentators were wondering why he's chosen two keepers instead of any youth player haha

But he'll definitely want to buy and play young players next year tho, for sure, 100%

:hayee:
Were those young players available chosen for our squad? If not they could not be used .....

Because he is and because he won't. Soz your favourite da's not as great a manager as you'd like.

We’ll see won’t we. You can’t just claim he’s definitely going to do something when he hadn’t done it yet as absolute fact.

Also lol at Holgate being a journeyman, he’s had two permanent clubs in his entire career and is 26

Godfrey is 25 and has had two professional clubs since leaving the youth team at York.

Journeymen…
