The fact he still hasn't been officially announced as our new manager brings credence to the rumours circling that he has indeed walked away as they were unable to agree on the length of his contract.
As someone who really did want Lampard to succeed, I now can't help looking back on the palace game as the game where it all went wrong.
The performance was brilliant and of course I wouldn't hand those 3pts back now but it gave us all hope that we were finally on the right path. But we weren't, it just ended up being a random one off performance which bought the man extra time.
If things had gone the other way I think we would of already been questioning his position and possibly had someone lined up and in place a lot sooner, with a window still in front of him to have a plan in place.. ( And no way we would of thrown away so many vital points at home )
Whether the club would of actually backed that plan is a different question tho...

Absolutely this. I was indifferent when he was unofficially announced but I just want a notification to say that he is finally joined.
I want a big, crass video with fireworks and the rats girlfriend dancing wth it ending with a transition where his gruff faces pelts towards the screen to say " I'm here you bar stewards" in his most stoic voice. Maybe a kiss on the cheek from Contract Dave.
