2024/25 Sean Dyche

Behave yourself. Competitive?

No. We hung on in there, but we were absolutely not competitive.

You've got a hardon for Dyche but try pulling the wool over our eyes.

Weird response. A draw is competitive by its nature. Football is putting the ball int he opponents net and keeping it out of yours. If you keep it out your net you’ve competed. Not sure what’s so difficult about that. You seem angry we got a decent point today.

What did each side get after the game? The same. Therefore this graph has what meaning? I bet our graph against Bournemouth looked great for 87 minutes but I’ll take the 1 point today over the zero we got then.
I mean, I personally would take 10 matches like the Bournemouth one over 10 matches like the Newcastle one, because you would win the other 9. An isolated greatest choke in PL history wont repeat itself, much less 9 more times. If we played like that every match we would win many.

Im happily surprised we managed a point today but dont see us getting better without Branthwaite.

Need to start getting some wins at home. Ipswich and even Southampton away aren't quite the regulation wins some are tempted to believe, one look at the away form for 2024 would indicate that.

With the line up and the way the game went you take a draw all day long but ultimately you're not getting that far up the table winning 1 out of 4 at Goodison unless the away form gets really good.

At the moment it's morphed back into a hard to beat team but can see plenty of draws in next two months which won't look so great when running into a fixture schedule of RS, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man. City which is the run from start of December.

Need to get some wins on the board soon. People do realise Newcastle had actually lost on two of their previous three visits to Goodison so let's not make out this is some Man. City level dominance in the fixture.

That's true we played a side that is 16th in shots taken or somewhere around that. We should be around 8/9 points with the fixtures we had, but now on 5. A performance like today won't suffice against a better side.

December will be hard we should build a good distance till then, have Wolves and Forest to get points then, myb so odd results in the others but, not much to gain realistically.

We set up to play like a team in a relegation dogfight, so we manifest a relegation dogfight. We finished above Brentford last season, why aren’t they hunkering down for a dogfight trying to scrape ugly results and looking out for Ipswich’s results hoping they lose?

We’ll probably finish above Brentford again on the back of pragmatic points like this one.

Why? We finished 12th without deductions last season, why is 17th now good enough? The standards at this club stink and it’s partly there fans fault for coming out with guff like this.
I'm not saying we wont get 12th. But the name of the game for us in this period of the club is to get new owners in and into that stadium as a PL outfit.

How on earth dont some people GET that.

So we weren’t competitive then

Thanks for clearing that up

You don’t seem to understand the causal link between actual results and points. Why are you getting graphs out in what is a sport based on binary outcomes. You win, lose or draw and get rewarded accordingly. What some graph says has nothing to do with anything.

Everton 0 0 Newcastle, a draw, ergo the sides couldn’t be split, point shared. Competitive. I can’t help it if you can’t accept that we got the same outcome as Newcastle today.

Because the stadium doesn’t come with a new manager and 11 new players. The mentality on the pitch is totally irrelevant to a new stadium.

You set a low bar standard, like we have now, and that follows us into the new stadium

It was a draw so by its nature is competitive.

Some people need to understand that just because we’re at home and we’re called Everton doesn’t give us the right to just muller teams.

Look through the 11s, apart from maybe Pickford over Pope and Ndiaye over Murphy, you’re probably taking a Newcastle player in every position of a combined 11. They’ve got world class midfielders in Guimaraes and Tonali and our former best player upfront for them.

They’re a much better side than we are quality wise and if Dyche is the worse manger of all time that people make him out to be then they effectively had a better team, a better manager, and a better bench, so therefore a point is a decent result.
I don't think people are asking to muller teams mate. I think just something that resembles football in 2024 would do.
