2024/25 Sean Dyche

Put a sock in this now.

No. OUR END GOAL is NOT just to remain a top flight club. I think you're in some parellel universe. Everton Football Club are not Southampton or Sheffield United or Burnley. We're not here to just finish in top flight. If THAT is what you think then you are NOT an Evertonian or you're a far away imposter.

I think you seem to be a bit sucked up by what Everton seem to put out seem to have put out the last twenty odd years. But Everton FC absolutely should not have a goal to just "remain a top flight club".
Why do you keep responding to the same post…

You ok mate?

I would suggest re reading the original post that seems to have gotten you so very worked up and maybe lay off the drink or whatever else you are on that has got you so worked up

No mate, it didn’t. And I’ll break down the discussion for you:

You’ve said we don’t hit it aimlessly and we have a plan to win the second ball. You’ve then citied Aston Villa as an example.

This didn’t happen; the goals against Villa were:
1. Onana was arsing about with the ball in midfield and McNeil won it of him and the ran and shot
2. A free kick

So neither goal against Villa was the result of a long ball, that we challenged for and pressed which created a goal

We hit it to Dom or into channels then force a press in the final 3rd. It's putting the ball into the dangerous areas.

Alternatively we let the the opposition have the ball and trigger presses.

RE Villa The 2nd was from our "aimless" balls and won the free kick.

I'll give you McNeil's

And then there's Dom being clean through twice from through balls.

So possibly...you think Dyche has a plan then other than long balls depending on the opposition?

Be another slog of a season for sure.

At least there is some defensive solidity returning.

Need Broja in, he might provide a spark.

TFG will have to do some business in January.

I'm just tired of setting up at home like we are a League 2 team playing away. I understand we are defensively struggling right now with numbers and injuries but it's just depressing each week. We shouldn't be scared of the opposition at home, we should be the ones scaring them but we don't.

This is just moaning for moaning's sake now.

If someone 2 weeks ago had offered me 5 points from Leicester away and Palace and Newcastle at home I'd have taken the hand off them. 2 goals conceded as well, so our defensive game is improving.

With Ipswich, Fulham, WHU and Brentford to come we have a real platform to get at least 8/9 points.

You missed out saints

3 of our next four are away from home, not sure where you think we are gonna be winning three out of four or not losing any of those Dave.

We couldn't beat a terrible Leicester dude away, scraped a result v palace after being battered for a half and should have been 2-3 down, and today if Newcastle could finish we should hsve conceded again about three

Competitive against a very good side without our best player. A clean sheet. Another point on sides below us who lost.

It’s not the worst result in the world. 5 points out the last 3 after zero in the first 4 is some progress.

I don't think we were competed mate, we created pretty much nothing, needed a pen saving, Newcastle's finishing was atrocious otherwise they'd have scored 3 today.

Plus let's not forget Newcastle were missing their best player too in Isaak
