2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Using that logic Richarlison is crap because he got relegated with Watford.

Roy Keane - horrific player (relegated with Forrest)

Juninho - dross (relegated with Boro)

I don’t think being relegated necessarily means you’re a bad player, though it also doesn’t mean you’re a good player either tbh lol… there is a correlation but I don’t think it applies to the better players in the team. Of which McNeil & doucoure were in their teams

The manager and the recruitment team need firing from a cannon though, because they’re the easiest to fire and replace than an entire team.

Theres always the odd exception. You've cherry picked Roy Keane there from 33 years ago lol

Has he gone yet ?

Which one of Doucoure, McNeil or Harrison are better than players in relegation teams? Because all 3 have been relegated.
See also Pickford, Tarkowski, Gana and Keane. This is a poor squad of players.

And I accept the manager is awful too.
Not sure Pickford and Gana help your case.

Pickford - Englands number 1
Gana - went off to play for PSG for a few years

Gana was either joint 1st or 2nd just after Kante for most statistics in the season before he joined us (and his subsequent seasons with us) and is what I would consider a steal for the price and actual scouting involved. We also sold when we had to and I think for a profit, credit where it's due, but then failed to replace him so brought him back and are now not playing him in his water carrier defensive mid role but in a more expansive CM role which he just cannot play and was never meant to really.

The rules in this country dictate that clubs need to sell players as much as they buy them so as to be able to balance the books for PSR purposes, even the big clubs have to sell players. Look at Newcastle with their money, they went on a spending spree but didn't really have the wiggle room nor did they sell any existing players which had a knock on and left them short last summer. Also Managers/coaches can't just spend their way out of trouble/situations every season, there comes a point where if they want the big salaries then they need to just get stuck in and show what they are made of.

Dyche would swap our financial situation for every single other club in the league bar none.

We’re in a position of selling one big asset every summer and spending less money than we bring in on replacements. We’re now down to about three saleable assets in Pickford Branthwaite DCL and the latter will go cut price or for nothing.

He would bite your hand off to be in Newcastle or Villa’s position with their PS&R ‘issue’ of wondering which asset they’ve bought recently to sell in order to buy even more good players.

People are just glossing over squad quality and money like it’s not the biggest factor in the history of football.

Some of the comments are basically akin to ‘well if you forget about player quality, issues off the pitch, transfer expenditure, injuries, ownership change, then there’s no excuses and Dyche should be doing better’. In that parallel universe maybe he should but we don’t live in that one.

If you keep selling the club’s better players every season, and pocket most of the cash, then you’re not likely to continue to see season on season improvement when your rivals are all spending. People can blame Sean Dyche for this but it’s just logical reality.

He didn't.

But the point is - when you have an entire front 3 of players who struggled in teams who went down recently - then it's another sign really that they're all not very good.

Not that I need that insight to know McNeil, Harrison and Doucoure aren't going to be great.

TBF he hasn’t being given any funds to suggest the remit isn’t survival.
Moshiri isn’t present as you point out, but he knows the value of this club is determined on us being a premier league side.
Therefore if the owner investing in the squad, I can deduce staying up and reducing spending is his remit.
So really it’s not his remit its your opinion of what his remit should be given the optics involved.

And that could well be the case, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s grim to watch. It’s a season in and season out grind, It supposed to be entertainment and I dunno about anybody else I’m not entertained.

I’m old, these were the ones that came to mind.

I can pick about 4 players without much thought from the Leicester team that got relegated 2 seasons ago if you like 🤷🏻‍♂️

its a fair point. Tielemans and Maddison. But i even think they are exceptions. Those clubs they went to havent got a team packed with relegated players.
We've got about 7 or 8. Its no surprise really that we're mainly at the wrong end of the table the past few years.

Didn't help them to have key players with their eye on the exit door either. All were off that summer regardless.

But you do want us to break out of any bad spells of form don’t you? Don’t you?
Are you trying to imply that I actively want Everton to lose lad ?
Yeah , right , I rock up to every home game hoping we get beat 😀
Travelling down to West Ham on Saturday praying we get slaughtered 🤣
Give your head a wobble .
I want Everton to win more than I want easy victories on the internet .
So kindly quit the snide comments, thanks .
