2024/25 Sean Dyche

You say that, but what was it, a 2 year deal?

So basically, we got to keep him for 2 years for a total sum of about £13 million net. Sounds a lot, but at the time we definitely would have had to replace him, and we know we've had cash flow issues, so losing him for nothing would have put us in a difficult position, and would probably mean we'd have a smaller squad now as we speak.

You're not getting much for £13 million these days, especially considering you still have to pay any replacement wages too.

Also, don't forget PSR. He's now PSR neutral. Any replacement that cost anything wouldn't have been.
So we've not played for a week so naturally the new excuse is he's "PSR neutral"...?!?

What if we'd kept him for 1 year as we should've offered him a 1 year contract and then not renewed it, thus not sacking him and only losing stupid money for a year?

You're not getting much for 13m  He's the 6th highest paid manager (tied with Ange) mate. Iraola is on 1m a year (his teams play actual football with a lot less too), Nuno - 2m, Maresca even gets less than Dyche does

Afternoon mate. Nice try. You do know I was talking about Doucoure?

As you correctly point out as you don’t attend the matches it’s far easier to endure the dire football on display since you can choose to turn of the stream at any point and find something more rewarding to do.
It does make a difference.
Our perpetual fear of relegation has led us to Dyche.
The fact that apparently we are the only club that would cease to exist with relegation.
It’s the monkey on our back that has destroyed the club .
We lack any aspiration , we display zero bravery.
We are a sad little husk of a once great club , desperate to exist in the margins , unnoticed and unremarked.
A contemptible cowardly entity of no real value except to its own supporters .
Dyche is the living embodiment of that sporting cowardice , he is limited in ability, tactically inept and lacks any vision .
We deserve each other really .
Hope you find a good stream for Saturday.

Strangely, a part of where we are is owing to thinking a few extra quid would have us in top 4. Look at the cash we wasted on a zillion sh*te number 10's!

That's not fear of relegation, it's blind hope (and monstrous lack of professionalism and judgment), whilst the values of Moyes era ebbed away.

Strangely I think the appointment of Dyche to fix the ABSOLUTE MESS of the club's playing staff recognised just how badly BK and Mosh messed up, and where we were heading. Look at the debt's - and consider championship crowds and TV money... and the football!.

But I agree with you 100% I'm not at the grounds watching us survive that mess with Dyche - and regulars deserve better, I do agree with and understand that. I Just think it's not Dyche's fault. He's never hid what he does. And it's what Everton EFC needs to survive as an entity, but not the fans. I do get this.

Strange choice, giving all the players the weekend off after the game got cancelled? I'd have thought a training game, or at least some gym work might have been the way to go, unless he dosent want to over work them. Kind of goes against the "Dyche fit" ethos though... very odd.

They're all goosed. I rarely agree with the decisions of Sean Reginald Dyche, but this one is spot on. Give them a rest.

I think he would fancy the idea of a longer term contract but may take a short term one to start with and if he can have a successful run with the team could earn an extension.
It's an interesting evolution - perhaps the DOF was meant to take some of the dependence / importance of the manager away.

But then Utd just went full U-turn and dumped the DOF in favour of the manager.

So, has it just complicated the whole thing unnecessarily.

Evening mate. Didn't know as this is a Dyche thread, sorry to assume.

Even worse then - we're paying several million a year to an actual non footballer because the manager who we also pay several million a year only knows 1 thing and it's "fit Doucoure in the team in any way as he runs around a lot", and you're making an excuse that he's "PSR neutral" which doesn't mean anything.
