2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Sounds about right for us to be fair.

You say that, but what was it, a 2 year deal?

So basically, we got to keep him for 2 years for a total sum of about £13 million net. Sounds a lot, but at the time we definitely would have had to replace him, and we know we've had cash flow issues, so losing him for nothing would have put us in a difficult position, and would probably mean we'd have a smaller squad now as we speak.

You're not getting much for £13 million these days, especially considering you still have to pay any replacement wages too.

Also, don't forget PSR. He's now PSR neutral. Any replacement that cost anything wouldn't have been.

Very true...I'm in the Mister X section of the poll.

There are plenty of 'not with a 10ft pole'

Sarri has been mentioned, it's all a gamble 🤷‍♀️
Very much so. I’m not saying there isn’t someone out there who can get more out of this group of players than Dyche has but with a limited squad and presumably restrictions in place on spending until all PSR issues resolved it’s about finding that extra few percent in performances until someone can get a good run at overhauling the squad.

If they replace Dyche this season then they absolutely have to get it right.

They could give a six month contract to Moyes.

They may not be able to get their first choice manager before the summer.

Who like ? Ten Hag ? Howe ? Lopetegui ? Postecoglu ?
Presumably when you want to know the best likely ROI for your money you go down the pub and ask the fella with pee stained trousers who bought frozen food 4 hours ago that’s melting inside his bag for life? Or do you trust that someone employed and with expertise in banking and investment would be better qualified to give you an idea?

There is a whole world of football out there, it’s the job of someone/ hopefully a group of informed people (or to be employed asap) at the club with expertise to put forward names to the new owners that most of the people on here haven’t heard of. Then you can come swinging in with “yeah, but no premier league experience!”.

Sean Dyche has been here nearly 2 years, has been managing for over 12 and has had more games as a premier league manager than his teams have scored goals. This Everton team clearly work on nothing going forward, absolutely nothing to break teams down. The entire attacking gameplan is hoping for a lucky set piece or a moment of brilliance from an isolated attacker and if that doesn’t work change the attacking personnel and not the gameplan. I should think there are quite a few attainable coaches in world football who would at least have a better plan than that, especially if your team starts conceding goals for fun.
