Maybe try reading what the context is before diving in? I see Mike isn't the only one jonesing for something to take issue with.

Well, PSR neutral very much does mean something when you've got well documented PSR and cash flow issues.

I'm not making any excuses. I'm explaining why the club will have been reluctant to let him leave for nothing. You've provided some wonderful insight and a compelling argument as to why we should have let him leave for free. Bravo. 👏

I saw the context, you are making an excuse for giving a contract to a horse of a player by making a term up.

PSR neutral very much means nothing when said player is our highest paid and actively contributing to the negative PSR and structure - we're paying him enough for 2 players, with the output of 0.5 players.

We should've offered him the same/similar wage as before (rumoured ~70k) instead of almost doubling that. No doubt forced by the dinosaur of a manager who loves the lad because he runs a lot as well, as I said. He's currently on ~6.3m per year instead of ~3.4-3.5m, that's not "PSR neutral" at all, it could've been either money for a bigger squad or money to actually help us with the PSR situation if we're not bringing anyone else in, as we're effectively balancing the books to accommodate a huge wage like that.

Oh dear, I never realised you struggled to grasp how somebody might use err, made up words to aptly describe something. I'm sorry if they're not in the official phrasebook 'PSR for dummies.'

For a club with cash flow issues and (at the time) ongoing PSR issues, keeping Doucoure vs spending money on a replacement is very much PSR neutral. Don't care if it's a made up term. Vs spending on a replacement, it's very much neutral, as his transfer fee is off the books. Jabber on about it being a made up phrase all you want, but I know you're not stupid, so you can grasp the point...

If you think we could have used the £13m net it's cost us to keep him for 2 years fair enough, but don't pretend that letting him leave for free and replacing him wouldn't have had an impact. We were already cap in hand for Beto that summer, but let's just pretend we would have been sound replacing Doucoure too eh?
