2024/25 Sean Dyche

So many convinced JB will put everything right.
He’s great, he has a great future and he’ll make a big difference but he’s a young lad, the current expectation for his return is heaping pressure on him and he’s coming back from injury after the off season so it’s very likely going to take time to get back up to speed. He’s not going to immediately put everything right.

Dyche has regressed, we have regressed. I hear those that say there’s promising signs like scoring goals and getting ahead in games but come on… we should never have been 2 up against Villa and I for one never expected to win even at 2-0.

Last 2 seasons the same people were saying “But he’s got us defensively sound, that’s what Dyche does, hard to beat” now they say “But we are scoring and looking much better”. Surely if you’ve sacrificed your defensive strength to be able to score goals there’s a big problem! We can’t be in a situation where we need to score 3 goals to get a draw and need 4 to win, that’s just not feasible.

I don’t want to be sat here yet again hoping there are 3 worst teams to keep us safe, it’s soul destroying for Christ sake.

Dont say there isn’t anyone else or no one will touch us in our state as that’s pure nonsense. Someone here already said half the German league, the Championship and multiple French and Italian teams have managers that would jump at the chance to be Manager of Everton, confident Managers that would back themselves. Yes, we have fallen a hell of a long way and not the prize we once were or anywhere near.. but imagine being the Manager who put us back on the map, your stock would be immense. And a good Manager would look at our squad right now and know there’s a lot to work with here. The anti football and weak mentality are both coming from Dyche… I’m sure of it now.

But, and this is the rub.. he’s not going anywhere yet, he’s safe until a new owner steps in. The club will not pay him off at this time. And my own gut reaction is that a takeover will not happen for some time (thats for another thread of course)

I have been sat here chewing everything over all day, and I can honestly see us (the club) reacting too late in terms of pulling the trigger.

I hope I’m wrong, I hope Dyche makes me eat every word and I’ll be the first to hold my hands up. Right now though, I think the teams that came up and the ones we would expect to struggle look stronger than last season… all except us.
Great post mate👍

I'm just reading through some comments.

There really are some deluded fu fans out there. Seem to think we're unlucky or just need the breaks or a return of Branthwaite, and that will solve all our ills.

That's too simplistic. Sorry. The real issue is we're in the 💩 as we have been for a few times in recent years, and the manager appears to be inept, clueless, unable to deal with the problems we're facing. It seems a lot are pinning hopes on Branthwaite coming back. Or that our luck will change. Or that we're improving we're scoring goals. Certainly quite a lot are too dismissive of dismissing him yet as "it's just 4 games". Give him another 3 / 6 / 34 he'll turn it round. We'll be safe.

Really?

We've been a club that can't turn around a game when we go behind (ironically). Now we can't even be sure of a point, from being 2 goals up. That's very concerning don't you think?

The manager has had his usefulness and has like most managers we've had, in recent years, come to a point where nothing seems to work anymore. It's insanity to keep going with this manager. But okay let's keep it going.

he's got you all wrapped round his little finger making you think that michael keane is prime Maldini and that jack harrison is prime Ronaldinho

you fools

There's too many thinking in ideal terms regarding the manager rather than pragmatic terms.

Short memory syndrome.

But we were desperate for Dyche to come in here and shore this mess up. That situation is still the same.

The biggest danger to our safety now lies with the board / owner taking notice of bed wetters on Everton social media and pulling the plug on a man who almost certainly will find a way through to safety over the next 34 games.

It all changes in any case once Branthwaite resumes his place at the heart of the defence. It's really that simple. People know this but some want permanent-change in the Everton manager's office just to spice up their existence. It's pathetic.
Doesn't this simply confirm he has not succeeded in shoring the mess up? We should be looking upwards in his second full season but we are far from it and Dyche doesn't seem to know what's wrong, let alone how to fix it

I know he's absolutely useless but I'm genuinely too apathetic to even care about changing.

Unless things go really REALLY bad in the near future I genuinely see us limping over the line in 17th or so to the new stadium.

Shame cause I think some actual managers would get more out of this team.

Until the ownership of the club is resolved we will continue to be an also ran clown show.
