2024/25 Sean Dyche

Interesting in the iNews article that Thelwell apparently has a chance of being kept on longer term but Dyche doesn’t. Think Thelwell does deserve a crack with an actual budget without one hand tied behind his back, Dyche on the other hand has shown his limitations and I’ll be delighted when he’s replaced.
Probably guessing due to the Rangnik link

This has been the worst period of the club's history. No cash to spend, owners who went AWOL, the football Establishment looking to punish the club for spending its own money when it did have cash to spend, a squad full of bottom 5 players apart from one or two. And you expect Dyche to be getting up the table with dazzling displays of football.

It's a sense of entitlement that fans of no club as terrible as this one is right now has any business demanding.

Be thankful that Dyche is capable of pulling off three relegation avoiding seasons, tip your hat to him, and wish him a likely fond farewell at the end of the season. Anything less than that is being a classless fool.
Where did he say dazzling football. He is a survive first mananger, 90% of the games are tight and that’s what he wants, he would Bite your hand off for 0-0 at 80 mins every game and if we come on the right side 30% of the time we will be safe. Toss of a coin football.

He also plays the how toughs it’s been card in every interview, setting it up so when we survive he’s hailed a miracle worker. 37 points would have got us safe last season, yes that’s right 37.a walk in the park with that squad It’s not some great escape like Joe Royle did after walker

His remit is to keep Everton up.

When he arrived here - us on our arse and facing relegation - would you have taken the next three seasons staying safe and getting new owners and into that new stadium?

You and everyone else would have bitten off someone's arm if offered that.

For me not that he wasn’t trusted but it feels a bit mad that the first half time comeback seems to , in part , have been inspired by the captain .
I think its only as mad as people want to make it. Id imagine most captains have a voice in the dressing room at half time and i wouldnt be surprised if the speech is being massively overplayed by Young and Mcneill.
