2024/25 Sean Dyche

Regardless of all the ante-Young furor, I’ve not heard anybody suggest a better back-up LB option available to Dyche. He shouldn’t be near the side but sadly he’s the best Dyche has, the contrast was clear with McNeil last night.

Perhaps it’s more to do with recruitment than Dyche and Young.
What did you make of trying Roman Dixon at left back and Dwight McNeil at right back for about 10 minutes???

That was a brave move which almost cost us

I think the moyes years and the everton sentimentality perpetrated by kenwright when he was involved in the club created the narrative that you can't sack a manager prematurely, obviously there's extremes like in the sacking approach such as how chelsea and watford operate, but clinging on to a highly flawed manager for consistency is a symptom of the unrealistic romanticism that is still prevalent at this club.

We have a DOF and if we actually utilized that model correctly it wouldn't matter If a manager got sacked as a similar more effective manager would be already sounded out to come in. But unfortunately at this clown show we don't run things like that.

Managers have ebbs and flows even when their good but when there's a clearly problematic pattern that's been present a manager needs to be sacked

…..probably desperation, they were walking through McNeil and I just don’t think he wanted to introduce Young (he said before the game he can’t be playing 3 games in a week).

I suppose Harrison is an option but he looks as mobile as McNeil. Amazing to think we’re a Premiership club with only one conventional LB to call upon. Mackenzie Hunt was never deemed good enough but he’s gone and it’s such a pity ISS moved as soon as he had the chance.

I’m not aware of any LB pushing from the Academy @blueloon ?

He will never evolve his style
I should've realised this when he was on the 'masterclass' youtube taking 10minutes to explain his tactics. He also said he hadn't worked much on football since leaving Burnley. Eddie Howe on the other hand didn't realise he wanted to get back into management until he noticed himself spending more and more time drawing up new training regimes and tactics to the point where he said he might as well do it for real again.

The fact Dyche has won one game in August in his career without changing his preseason is a massive red flag showing either stubbornness or ignorance of a better way. He judges himself on the full season and says it regularly, meaning he's comfortable with a percentage lost games. The best managers hate losing every game and it shows. He's not good enough. Came in, did a job, has improved nothing since. thanks and bye

Howe's Bournemouth sides were good to watch mostly but he couldn't put together a good defensive averaging 66 goals against in his years in the prem there.. Dyche's problem were the opposite, make the team score and has showed here again, obviously also considering we had this under the last 5-6 managers as well.

He recognized this deficit on him. Went to one of the best manager's when it comes to sorting out defenses in the world called Simeone and this worked out at Newcastle, apart from last season.

nope, apparently it's negative fans according to what i've read this morning on the bird app. How are our players expected to play football when fans are being nasty about them. We should be showering them with praise, love and light regardless of performances and results. Yes we might lose the next 10 games but long term the players will feel great about themselves, and play the game with a smile on their faces and a song in their hearts. So, next time Michael Keane gets out-jumped by a 5ft 7 striker leading to another goal, and you want to boo him, stop and think about his feelings.
I do love it when fans blame “Toxic Goodison” for us being dire. Now how does that explain our inability to win an away game in the entirety of 2024 AD?
