Another season closer to the new stadium where we stayed in the league so has to be seen as a success especially given the points deductions

The tag in to this thread, because I can’t be done doing a new thread, this is how we done on the head to heads this season, counting cup games

Arsenal - 1-3 (0-1 home, 1-2 away)
Aston Villa - 2-5 (0-0 home, 0-4 away, 2-1 cup)
Bournemouth - 4-2 (3-0 home, 1-2 away)
Brentford - 4-1 (1-0 home, 3-1 away)
Brighton - 2-2 (1-1 home, 1-1 away)
Burnley - 6-0 (1-0 home, 2-0 away, 3-0 cup)
Chelsea - 2-6 (2-0 home, 0-6 away)
Crystal Palace - 5-3 (1-1 home, 3-2 away, 0-0/1-0 cup)
Fulham - 1-2 (0-1 home, 0-0 away, 1-1 cup)
Liverpool - 2-2 (2-0 home, 0-2 away)
Luton - 3-5 (1-2 home, 1-1 away, 1-2 cup)
Man City - 1-5 (1-3 home, 0-2 away)
Man United - 1-5 (1-3 home, 0-2 away)
Newcastle - 4-1 (3-0 home, 1-1 away)
Nottingham Forest - 3-0 (2-0 home, 1-0 away)
Sheffield United - 3-2 (1-0 home, 2-2 away
Tottenham - 3-4 (2-2 home, 1-2 away)
West Ham - 2-3 (1-3 home, 1-0 away)
Wolves - 0-4 (0-1 home, 0-3 away)

So we ended up doing a league double 3 times and were doubled on 5 times, our aggregate against the 3 relegated sides finishes up as 12-7 in our favour while against the top 4 is 6-15 against us, 11-25 against the top 6. For the first time in 9 years the Derby aggregate finishes level

Perspective is needed for some fans, I think.

Year on year, the squad is getting weaker; given the adversity which we've faced this year, officially 12 were taken off us (4 removed); the 777 drama and the rest, I think this season is our most impressive for years.

It's not been pretty, it's been beyond frustrating and poor at stages, but 50 points was it without deductions? Our most since Carlo days.

Some bad results in there, but more often than not competitive.

Off-season will be massive. Need to retain as much talent as we can whilst working on a threadbare budget.

But it was very nice to have meaningless football for the entirety of May, more of the same to close off at Goodison, please!

Sorry if my expectations are low, just feel it's not worth being unrealistic!

Shocking at times. Got better near the end of season. Points deductions must have played on players minds. However, we are still here so two fingers up to the lot of them.

I shall adopt a song from my favourite band for next season in the hope it comes true.
