Transfer Rumour Sergio Romero

If he signed, he'd have to be given the jersey and allowed stake his claim. No point him swapping Utd's bench for ours.

Pickford has made his own bed so he and nobody else could complain if a new keeper went straight into the side.

I could see Utd being like Chelsea for this, particularly for a loan deal, it will run all through next week and into deadline day.

Doubt it'd be a loan with his contract expiring at the end of the year. I'd imagine it'd be £8-10m and we should be all over it.

That's good news, it makes any negotiations more straightforward I think. His personal terms might be more of an issue than the transfer fee, Utd can't ask a lot for someone in their last year who was content to be a back-up and has hardly played for them.

Reported today that Utd want £10m and he wants to stay on £100k per week, hopefully we have some of the squad heading out the door to fund that kind of activity. Brands can probably get the fee down a bit, but the wage bill is too high at the moment and we have a squad of 31 at the moment (based on the first team squad listed on the OS) I think Carlo has said he wants 22 players and Brands has said around 25, so conservatively we need 6 gone before deadline day. I am sure we all have a list of those we would like to see plying their trade elsewhere. As we already have 3 keepers I think we would need one of them gone before the deadline to make this happen. No one is going to buy Pickford, so probably looking at a loan for either of the other too.

I think if Romero comes in he has the ability to keep Pickford out and then we could possibly sell Pickford either in January or next summer, but probably for much less than we paid for him, sadly.

Has he had his picture taken at Finch Farm yet?
No?
Would he be a Vast improvement at £100,000 pw? or just another set of probems that would make him...for different reasons, not quite good enough
But same 'Net result' - ball in the back of the net...pun intended

If Pickford plays against Palace his morale will be rock bottom if he has heard the rumour about Romero. Anyway, although Romero is not good enough to displace the crap De Gea he is probably still better than Pickford.
