Maybe I’m thick and naive but how does a football club consistently put out team sheets like this when the bench isn’t full and have two keepers on it?

Surely there 2 or 3 lads in the under 21s that you’d say “oh we’re a bit short this weekend, we’d like to bring you along on the bench”, it would literally be a dream for any young player. For some reason we just go without instead of literally putting anyone in there. It’s insane.

They won't be deemed fit enough by our manager

Any of the under 21's that were decent have been sold or sent on loan what's left or not up too much, so far the under 21's have been really poor.

I don't really doubt that but literally anyone is better than no one.

The midfield worries me. Gana - too old, Onana - too young, Doucoure - too donkey.

It'll be the inevitable injuries that kill us this term. The squad is paper thin. People positing the "If we can stay fit we have a decent side" line are clearly clueless on probability. We will, inevitably, get injuries. That's why you build a squad. We haven't built a fit-for-purpose squad and if we manage to stay up it will be by default. Lose today and it becomes increasingly difficult to be remotely optimistic as Sheffield United are almost certainly one of the three teams that we depend on to be worse than us. A six-pointer in September. Sigh.
