I watched the first question or two of his pitchside interview but thought he was waffling hard so switched it off. When asked about that first half he mumbled some rubbish about young players being given their chance, learning the pressure of the situation (what, of a half full League 2 stadium? give over). Basically trying to deflect from the worst first half of football from this club in memory. Reckon the 'couple of injuries' is probably part of those excuses

Yeah was basically blaming the young players for experienced first team professionals consistently launching long balls over their heads.

Based on pre-season and the two home games we've had, I've been hopeful that Dyche might be able to incorporate a more contemporary form of pressing, quick passing football into his atypical rugged, dogged, set piece style of play.

After last night I now harbour serious doubts. In particular, hanging the young players out to dry has made me angry.

Just need a result here. Then maybe we'll have a couple of new signings and McNeil back from injury to face Brentford and Arsenal and we can get going in earnest. It would be hard to recover from losing this one, though.
