Haha yeah, because that was the extent of Usmanov’s involvement wasn’t it. Two former Everton managers have said they were basically interviewed for the job by him on his yacht.

Thats not the extent of his involvement . Moshiri was his accountant. The sponsorship was not based on any logical marketing plan … join the dots and its very clear … then along came Putin and boom all gone…

Our problem right now seems to be having little or no money. It's not FFP stopping us spending, it's a lack of cash stopping us spending.

Still, nothing to do with the Stadium. Its due to Moshiri's businesses being sanctioned and our past performance, other spending and FFP. If FFP did not exist, we would normally just spend and post a bigger loss at the end of the financial year, take out more money in the form of a loan, possibly against future earnings from TV money or the stadium revenue. But we cant do that, because FFP requires that we post a profit this financial year.

FFP is stopping us from spending money. Any costs attributed to the stadium are not included in our losses for FFP.

Our other issue relates to Moshiri, his businesses being sanctioned mean that he may not have the cash flow to continue to pay for the stadium, this is why the club has borrowed money from MSP (£100m) and now 777. We can do this because it can be marked in an accounting sense as "stadium costs" and not count against us for FFP. If we used that money to buy more players it would count against us for FFP.

As per the title?

Was building the stadium under Moshiri a good idea? You could say we had delayed enough and were only falling further behind at Goodison.

Or was it poorly timed without the concrete funding guarantee it required (Sanctions on Russian oligarchs had been talked about long before the Ukraine war).
Great points, for me it was essential but on context and mow hindsight was it genuinely feasible and affordable?

This raise more questions about any so called due diligence undertaken by Everton, at the time.

Genuinely I'm concerned about what happens bext. I'm hoping that 777 don't get approved and perhaps a genuine company, could buy out Everton.

But if every aspect of Evertons building assets, are loaned or remortgaged out on the back of other loans, then surely any buyer, will be paying at least double and then there's the BMD stadium.

My instinct tells me that Evertons standing in the football credibility stakes are shot to pieces, but also is this 777, proposal just a ruse to get more interest, from other potential buyers?

No idea, but the off field mess must have some impact on Dyche Thelwall and the squad, well every team at all levels.

There's not many games won by the 1st team, u23 and u18s, this season.

It's like a Biblical curse not just now but the last 3 decades, but hopefully soon, Evertons luck, must change.

UTFTs!

Eh? What??
Usmanov sold arsenal shares august 2018. spending spree started same time. Nothing illegal done just clever or not clever “sponsorship”. As i said already Putin messed it all up as we would of kept buying players and sacking managers but eventually would of clicked and certainly would of not of been where we are now …

What in god’s name are you on about, no it didn’t.

This is just such a bad post overall.

Google not work on your phone ? Moshiri took main shareholding in 2018 - Usmanov pulled out same time. No one cared before Ukraine invasion and all would off been all good if didnt happen. The bad signings are not all down to them. They employed people and trusted our esteemed chairman with there investment.
