You have to forgive the utter carnage of mess ... I'm in the middle of a kitchen project I may have mentioned elsewhere. No 'kin time or space to tidy up. Health and safety can do one.

Depends.
I have one- that’s where my workshop is.
But we’ll be renting a house about a mile away while renovating and no basement in that house.

It’s definitely not a guaranteed thing to have one.
