Player Valuation: £35m
no surprises from Everton today. Result was exactly what I thought it would be. A convinving victory to Villa.

Players were poor, squad looks poor and if the manager continues to buy players that show endeavour, guts, hard work and spirit to the detriment of skill, technique, touch, culture and creativity - then the manager is poor as well.

Sick of these lacklustre piss poor performances. Can't fault their work rate, just their ability. And for a team that has spent so much money - ability should be beyond question.

They honestly look like they have the skill of a championship side.

If we had players with skill, then the hearts these players have could maybe win the league, but you need to be able to play a bit as well.

With the exception of Baines, these players are starting to look shocking.

it was moyes' tactics to build a tiny squad, with quality in the first 11 and not much beyond. We are starting to pay the price for his lack of foresight.

I say this and I consider myself a moyes fan. I think its time we should look to europe for players, had enough of these english style hit it and hope merchants.

When was the last time we outclassed newcastle, spurs, liverpool, man U, arsenal etc. Yes we've beaten them all, some quite convincingly - but never outclassed them with silky passing and combined moves.

QUALITY??????

One good season one bad season, remember?
Reminds me of what happen 2 seasons ago, out of europe, 12 game winless streak, almost flirting with relegation. Not so bad this time round... can we consider this as an improvement?

Dogs of war? Dogs of war?

I remember when we used to live in a paper bag in the middle of the motorway and have Steve Watson playing centre forward.

And earlier days with Gordon Lee as manager...

only mcfadden hibbert and gravesen have a dogs of war attitude about them.

the rest are more puppies of prancing and a bit namby pampy imo! :D

At this moment in time an improvement by far don,t forget we are missing nearly half a team howard, vaughan, cahill, gravesen and arteta we have to be realistic its not only half a team out they are our better players

Why are people surprised Moyes likes commitment and tenacity above skill and we are now paying the price for that with Neville seemingly beyond any chance of being dropped no matter how he plays

Yeah lets sack Moyes!

Is everyone mental, were six points of the top ffs and not out of europe the last time i checked.

We have half a team out injured and five players to bed in directly to the first team that were signed during the summer. Paitence please and lets not press the ejecter seat just yet. Let the team gel and watch us fly as players come back, progress is gradual, and during the summer when we scream for and delight when a flux of new players are signed we seem to forget that new signing need to get to know a new club and the way team mates play and vice versa.

Chill out it will come good. Weve twice as many points as Spurs.

Hi Neiler mate, got your bum brown yet? Well said by the way exactly my thoughts, some people are easily upset and I expect a number of suicides if we lose the next match, true FACT(y)

Again I'll reiterate that there is no room for that common sense type of thinking here on this forum. We fully expect all members to blow a gasket at some point or another regarding Everton's play or lack thereof and you're no exception.

Now, let's hear some full blow pessimism with a dose of "Moyes Out" mixed in. ;)

Seriously- we have two poor games and thats it, WE ARE [Poor language removed]! It makes me cringe like you wouldnt believe when I read threads like this.

Lets give some facts:
1) This is the best squad of players we've had since the late 80's.
2) This is probably the best manager we have had since the 80's.
3) We currently have Cahill and Vaughan injured, who will be like new signings when back.
4) We lost to a decent Villa team who are improving under O'neill, we lost to the current Premier League champions with an 86th Minute header. we drew 1-1 with a team that rode their luck when we missed TWO penalties.

For god sake get a grip!
