Signing players from Ukraine/Russia

Should PL clubs be allowed to temporarily sign players from Russia/Ukraine?

My (sentimental) knee jerk reaction would be to allow the temporary loan of players, in the respect that like any other refugees, they are trying to get their families and themselves to safety while seeking employment, so as not to be burden on the receiving country. Conversely players wishing to 'escape' Russia may use the occasion to publicly state that they don't support Putin's invasion and have no other (safe) way of protesting - Putin is head of state, Russia does not belong to him, further denying his supporters a product that they have access too. Hopefully the media starved Russians will start to ask questions about why all these things are happening and demand answers that cause Putin to re-think his action's. (or Hell could literally freeze over while we are all waiting). Anyway, give everyone who wants out a safe route and leave Putin and his cronies to kick a ball about in empty stadiums that way his 'team' might actually win something and leave the rest of us to get on with our lives without the treat of WW3 hanging over our heads. However, should those players make their way into struggling teams and those teams start turning their results around, we'll I honestly don't know, football is a funny old game, as they say, and all sorts of variables lift teams and also have an adverse effect. ?

Why should footballers become propagandists? They want to play football not play at politics.

It seems like one of our main rivals for relegation has tried to get Victor Moses from Russia due to the situation but the PL has blocked it on the grounds of “sporting integrity”.

That being said, the PL seems to have taken a fair amount of stick for it and other countries have allowed Ukrainian players to be signed.

If Burnley start at it then perhaps we should be looking to rescue some players and help our situation in the process.

I don’t know much about Russian or Ukrainian football but if there are any solid defenders, holding midfielders then it’s worth a look. Someone was telling me about a Thysganov or something from D Kyiv but I think we said he was a winger.

Any shouts?
Isn't he the one all the twitter scouts were banging on about at the same time as Leon Bailey. Hard pass if so.

All i will say is i am glad they couldnt get him, as we all know he would have scored the winner for Burnley v Everton knowing our Luck lol

Santos, Barrios, Malcom, Dodo and Neres, could have helped our situation. Obv not players to have long term but players to plug problem areas on the pitch til end of season.
