I realise that this is just a made up story but where do they get these figures from???

£8m for Bertrand??? Really??!!

Anfield and Goodison Park sides target Chelsea full-back.

Liverpool will battle local rivals Everton in pursuit of Chelsea left-back Ryan Bertrand according to the Daily Mirror.

The £8m rated Stamford Bridge bit-part player seems likely to leave West London after barely featuring under Jose Mourinho and a move to Merseyside could tempt the England international.

Bertrand has made just one Premier League start this season, and his place in the first team set-up was perhaps summed up by the Portuguese manager’s decision to opt to use right-back Cesar Azpilicueta in recent weeks his decision to freeze Ashley Cole out of his starting eleven.

Injury to Jose Enrique has left Rodgers using John Flanagan, with good effect, to fill the club’s left-back berth but the Liverpool manager wants to bring in Bertrand, who can also play further up on the left wing.

Roberto Martinez may well see Bertrand as a possible replacement for Leighton Baines, who has been constantly linked with a move away from Everton.

With the Toffees riding high this term a move to Everton may actually be more tempting for the 24 year old Chelsea man in view of a better chance of regular first team action.

Bit similar to this

I'd be amazed if RM was after Cattermole. He snubbed his plea to stay at Wigan to go to S'land when Martinez became Wigan boss.

That doesn't really mean a lot, does it Dave?

They're professionals. These things aren't taken personally, ya know?
