One thing that goes unnoticed on here imo, is the school of thought that wingers can only play one wing, that we need a left sided cb and a right sided one etc. I reckon that a winger should be able to both cross and cut in with both feet so while he may have a favoured side, like Mirallas, I think Mcgeady, Ince or any other wide men we get will be able to cover both. And as for a left sided cb, how many teams in the league have one except us? Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Spurs, Southampton dont and im not sure about city, think its 50/50. I honestly think that when Distin drops off, Stones will come in to partner Jags, and it will be a seamless switch, with Alcaraz providing capable cover for both for a couple more years yet.
