If we want a chance to finish top 4 we need a good striker now. Of course the problem is going to be getting someone in who is gonna be happy to be behind lukaku in the pecking order for the moment. Although good players should thrive on the chance to take his place in the starting 11. Still think we might see the Belgian kid come in.

I know there are rumours on twitter that RM said its a no go, but I seriously doubt he's going to jeopardise a transfer by telling some random fan that he's after a specific target.

There's more than enough money available to buy a quality striker and midfielder, it's just dependant on whether the player's available now or in the summer.

The clubs in the best financial position in years. The question for Martinez is do I panic and spunk a tonne of cash now on squad player's or wait until the summer and buy player's that can fit into his philosophy.

January isn't the best time to bring in quality, you hear every manager mention this.

Have you heard of the Spanish National team... or Barcelona for that matter. If you've got good enough players, 4-6-0 works.

I'm with you mate, I want us to spend every penny we have to push on for 4th but you can see from the Jelavic deal today that prices are extortionate and for mediocre players. We need to find players that can improve the first 11. Do we have £15 million plus to do that ?

Yeah you say that about Barcelona and Spain but they do actually have world class strikers and like you say, you have to have the players in midfield.

Clearly we dont have that yet. Give Martinez a couple of years and we might be there though

....RM has come out and said that a striker in January is now his No1 priority, a striker that's the right fit. Its just a matter of who and when.
