I feel sorry for Roberto. It's going to be a severe embarrassment to him that he went into the transfer window stating we'd come out of it with a stronger squad, and on Saturday, the day after the transfer window shuts, he'll lead out a team severely hit by injury and the failure to provide cover them.

He's being made to look like a proper divvy.

No it's not just about buying any old players but all the talk Is about loans loans and more loans people are paying good hard earned money for tickets and season tickets ok we got some good loans but people want to see money getting spent on players.

I pay money to go and support the team, primarily.

As part of that, I want to see us win games and play good football.

Wanting us to spend money on buying players is very much an afterthought as to why I spend money on watching Everton.

It would be preferable to own the players, but if that's not possible I'm not against loaning them.

Think this anti-loan thing is becoming a bit tiresome, in countries like Italy it's accepted practice. You'll also see far, far more loans as FFP starts to bite.

I'd like to see us spending our money on young players to build a squad for the next few years around. Adding loans to that doesn't bother me slightly. If Martinez prefers to wait until the summer to spend what money he has, for whatever reason he has, I'm ok with that and I'll settle for a loan or two in the meantime.

Wow one goal makes him a bloody super star how many teams in the premier league would Osman,Naismith, and hibbert get into please I would say none we signed mcgeady this month and had to fight all the top clubs for his signature young kids want to see star players on the pitch not a bunch of old men (Osman hibbert) even my 8 year old said he same to me and he's been going every home game since he was 5

My standpoint is that we keep Heitinga.

1) He is Fit enough to play
2) he is experienced
3) He wants to play in the world cup
4) We have no replacement.

is football your second favourite sport after Osman-bashing?

Your over the top unbalanced criticism of players like Osman and Hibbo says very little about them and a hell of a lot about you.
Not really mate, I am just bitter that they got the chance to become multi millionaires for being pretty much awful at football.

That's all. It's nothing personal against them, they've obviously taken full advantage of the opportunites handed to them.

PS Osman bashing isn't a sport.

I will really never understand some peoples comments ,I think they forget where we´ve been over the last few decades since we got gazumped out of Europe in the mid 80´s . Given the team we have now has done a fantastic job to get us to where we are ,the manager is young and brilliant , the squad ,all be it when fully fit can beat anyone on thier day and finances are looking healthier and great things are on the horizon ...yet it´s not good enough , it´s almost kopitesk in it´s absudity the moaning some poeple do.
O it´s a grand old team to play for......

Id rather he went but if he stays lets use him more, I think he will be motivated to play as he wants his WC spot and a new club.

Reading between the lines mate, either we're keeping Heitinga or he goes and we'll get someone else in.

I doubt even Everton would be silly enough to let him go and not bring in anyone else. It would save over £1m in wages to do this which we might benefit from, but I can't see it.

Having said that, I've seen stranger things where Everton are concerned...

So fans are kopites to question the club transfer policy in the middle of a major injury situation whilst going for 4th place and cup game two weeks away?

and agreed it definately needs to happen. But like Bobby says, there isn't value for money in the January window. I as much as anyone can see the importance of having players that we own. But with Del possibly coming back for another loan, especially after that injury, Barry signing on a Perm and possibly Lukaku too, the summer is surely where we'll do our business. We are in a great position to push on financially and I really don't want us to ruin it by bunking 10mil on some junk. If Martinez can get a player he's been looking at and has shortlisted as a target for a decent amount, then all well and good but if not...
