Sir Landon Of Donovan

I am right in thinking that we've never actually tried to sign him on a permanent deal?
As far as I can tell Donovan has done nothing other than stick to his contract for his home team and come and help us out (there can be no argument that he did) and then go back and honour(!!!) his contract.
I'm pretty certain that if Moyes went to the MLS to make a deal for him permanently he would join us.

Don't take my words so literally, Kay. This is a debate not a tax return!

I wasn't having a go at Landon like. Clearly we just differ when it comes to what deserves thanks. I'm not really overly thankful for highly paid professionals doing their job. I mean in spells, sure. When Fellaini bummed United I was thankful. But in general, maybe you're a bit too polite!

And I'm not throwing him under the bus! I remember what Landon accomplished while with us very clearly, and he played well consistently. It's clear in my mind and I'm not going to forget or blur it to fit an agenda. I feel quite balanced to be honest... I think you're perhaps merging my views up with some of the more anti-LD ones.

I'd just rather focus on players who do play for Everton. Week in, week out.

Totally fine with me this post. Sorry if it came across as you, you just replied asking me about the thanks. :) And yes, maybe I'm just too nice, but I like that.

And I focus on the other ones too - just hope this one joins them. :)

Well, he's right. It's a goddamned honour to play for us.

I kind of hate the idea that we're meant to be a grateful that a player played for one of europes finest clubs for more money a week then most of us get in two years in the most watched league in the world. There are millions of people worldwide who would literally rape a llama for that oppurtunity.

And the one that played here has talked about this club like it was Nirvana. Oh, and there's such a thing as just being polite. As a fan, I can appreciate that.

For what its worth i think he knows he has missed his chance of getting a permanant deal here and has gone into a massive sulk. thats my thinking anyway, he basically put out a "come and get me" plea to ourselves a few months back and didnt happen now he's stuck in a league that he's clearly fed up being in and is pining for us.

End of the day he could have joined us a couple of years ago for free but signed a new deal at Galaxy instead then came over in January for a couple of games and a bit of craic, only then did it hit him how special a club we are.

I think not putting a genuine bid in for him and signing Miralles has put his nose out and he doesnt like it.

Uh, what? He's had his best months in the league and is on pace to have his first double digit assits and goals season since 2005.

I just wanted to use the sentence "would literally rape a llama for that opportunity" if I'm honest.

LOL. Okay, I'll let it go now. I just want more depth to this squad so we have a chance at multiple trophies this year. This saga won't really be over until end of the year anyway.

I like it too Kay. This forum's getting far too hostile of late.

More debate, less irate.

And I guess we'll just see what happens really. Personally I just don't like drawn out transfer sagas. Mirallas' 4 day shenanigan tested my patience. The LD thing has been going on for 2 1/2 years now.

Trust me, as an Evertonian and LA Galaxy fan, it's been killing me. I'd rather he be here, but for me it's a win-win, so I won't throw myself off a bridge or anything. :P

I just hope hope hope Mirallas and Naismith stay healthy (and turn out good).
