I cant believe that no-one has posted this:

Landon Donovan has opened the door to a third spell at Everton, with the American admitting he 'misses' Merseyside.

The Los Angeles Galaxy playmaker has been a big hit at Goodison Park during previous loan stints in 2010 and 2012.

With his commitments in the MLS over for another year, a return to the Premier League is being mooted once again.

Talks are believed to be at an advanced stage and Donovan is confident he will re-join the Toffees at some stage in the near future.

The 31-year-old said in the Daily Mirror: "I would absolutely love to go back - and there's no doubt I will at some point.

"I miss the people. I miss the players a lot, and I miss just the positive energy of the fans walking into the stadium and how much they care about the club."

What I love about this story is that at not point has he said that he will be coming back to play, merely that he misses the City and the club. Im sure previously he has said he will be back as a fan at some point, and this is merely a reiteration of that.

But I think.... ITS ON! hahaha

If we have a couple of injuries or players are out of form, then why not. We know he is good, he knows the club etc. I imagine Thierry Henry will probably sign for arsenal on loan...that's not nostalgia, just a no risk signing for 2 months

I love Landon. I love Landon at Everton and I'd love to have him back.

BUT

Why are we looking at signing a winger on loan when Gerard isn't getting much time as it is? This is the only thing that perplexes me. LD is still a very good player and he clearly loves and gets Everton. I'm just trying to work out if we're just looking at players for cover in case of injury or if we actually have a plan.

I trust Bobby though. If he thinks it's a good idea, let's roll.

Could throw him up front if Lukaku gets a knock. Would be better than Jelavic. And anyway, there'll be injuries.

Don't believe Bruce Arena. Ever. I think he trotted out the same thing every year LD went on loan.

See what I posted in the "silly season" thread from Greg Seltzer. We are interested. Whether or not something gets done, who knows?

I don't care. Either he's here and great, or he's in US camp and great. Shrug. People get wound up about him and Clint needlessly. Depth is good, and if Martinez thinks he wants them, that's all I need to know right now.

He's not coming back. He just isn't.

That said....

...I'm gonna keep this thread going long after Landon retires, just as a wind up !!!
