Surely they can't do an April fools the day before?

Although saying that I'm currently replacing the mrs' beef sandwiches she made for work with dog food buttys. But she won't eat that til tomorrow so....

I'm sure there will be numerous 'hilarious' attempts at April fools at forae across the land. All of them will be rubbish.

It's all over the media now so it could well be a really, really good joke or could in fact be true. Either way, it's a class event.

I'm sure it said in the paper's he's gonne bring in Rob Lee as his assistant. Ginola turned down the offer :)

Its a joke on all fronts. Lets not bring in someone that has tactical sense for management, lets just get someone in who'll make the players slap each others arrse and go "grrr" before getting battered 5-0 by Chelsea in the coming week. Get someone in to sell out a 50,000 seater stadium with fans who'd turn just up to see Shearer open an evelope.

Ashley is an genius. Dont care what anyone says.

I think it's a funny one to be honest. On the one hand, it seems Newcastle could do with a quick injection of spirit to push them through the next few games. The team might be unbalanced but on the whole, they're too good for the Championship. But on the other hand, there could be some risk. Shearer might be a God on Geordieland, but the players aren't part of that little Geordie clique. Maybe they just won't respond to Shearer? To be frank, since Shearer lacks personality, charisma, intelligence and managerial experience, I'd be a little bit worried if I was a fan.

Personally I don't think Shearer is cut out for management. He's by far the least intelligent pundit on MOTD, and is really easily swayed by the opinion of others (he just agrees with whatever Hanson says really). If Newcastle stay up because of his appointment, I believe it will be because the fans get behind him and this translates to the players on the field.

Shearer is about to experience the enormous gulf between punditry and management -
If he had a brain he would wait till they get relegated and then take over - build a side in the championship and then gain some momentum, but to do it this way - I didn't realize he was that naive, but he obviously is !
.....at least it will keep us amused as the season tails off - Newcastle united what a f*cking circus !!:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

P.s dont u need coaching badges anymore???

Some of the Jawdee simpletons that have been interviewed on Sky are priceless.

"Sheeeera is da messiah man, top four 'n' champyuns leeg next seesin like yee naa"

Try those tricky away games at Doncaster Rovers first lads.

I bet you they stay up by the skin of their teeth though.

So it's true? Mary Poppins back at the (Looney) Toon army. Well, I guess they deserve eachother. Can't stand that dirty, cheating [Poor language removed] and never have. Will be even sweeter now, if those horrible Magpies go down this season. Please let it happen.
