Your right there Callum, let's finish the season strongly,go into the pre-season with a positive attitude, sign the players we need
early, get everyone as fit as possible then come august go out and be positive and carry on with self belief that we have now.

You would think we'd be in decent shape as I can't imagine we'll have as many players in either the Euros or Olympics as other teams, so they should be pretty fresh. Bar Rodwell there aren't any long-term injuries either.

At the start of the season there is expectation.

We play poorly.

Then there is no expectation.

We play well.

Last year Jags was saying that we were too relaxed and that was why we were giving away stupid goals and leaving in until late in games to decide that we needed to get going. Perhaps Neville, Jags, Cahill and Saha finding that they were no longer certain starters stirred us into action? Would Cahill fume if Barkley or Baxter had his place for a few games? How would Osman come back if he had to watch Gueye from the bench? I think it's more that they need shaking up rather than being relieved of expectation.

We do try that though. Was it three or four years ago that Moyes did his transfer business early and it still made no difference. We possibly come into the new season believing our own hype and it's only around christmas time that we remember that we need to work to get results.

Fingers crossed that will help. On the other hand players at teams like United won't have had a chance to get out of condition and they'll be more match fit than us. Tiredness might not tell until later in the season.

As yourself, what other side has had such talent and lost it ( whatever be the reasons ) and gone to be consistently successful?

If the players find the transfer window as stressfull as any of us, they must be wrecked till Christmas. Seriously like, we're all thinking will anybody be sold, they are the ones prob up for sale.

We really need to capatilise on player fatigue next season with a lot of the better teams players all playing in the yoyos.
