I tried following teams back in West Yorkshire like Huddersfield Town because I worked with people with learning disabilities in the town and the club did great things involving the local community of disabled people.
I have Scarborough Athletic 20 minutes away from my house now in North Yorkshire.
However whenever I think of football and indeed Everton I think of my old school friend who sadly died some years back now and I know football is something (along with Only Fools & Horses and Fawlty Towers) we really bonded over, Duncan Ferguson was his favourite player.
I get kind of emotional thinking (or in this case typing) about this but I guess hey its bloody football, it is supposed to make you feel.

I have been following Everton casually since 1996 after befriending a lad at high school who was a big fan of Everton. Living most of my life in West Yorkshire I was supposed to be a Leeds United fan as my sperm donor and his side of the family were Leeds fans but them being fans just gave me more of a reason not to follow them.
I have always checked up on Everton over the years and even more so since the death of my friend but was never more than a casual fan however I have decided over the past 2/3 seasons that I want to go all in with my support of Everton so I have done.
It is a great club with a loyal fanbase and a great history.
Now on here I look forward to interracting with you all.
